Hello! My name is Laura Joli. Welcome to my beauty and lifestyle blog Looking Joli Good!
The word “Joli” in French means pretty or beautiful. Having the last name of Joli, it seems like a natural fit to have a beauty blog.
I have always loved the world of beauty: makeup, fashion, jewelry, and hair, I love it all. As a child, I dreamed of one day becoming a hairdresser. As an adult I didn’t quite follow that dream, but I still love everything beauty related.
I am an Oncology R.N. turned stay at home mom, now back to work at a chemo infusion center. As a mother and nurse, I spend a lot of time doing things for other people. It often feels as if I don’t have a lot of time to myself. Despite the business and demands of the day, I try to always make a little time for “looking joli good”.
Isn’t it amazing how sometimes something as simple as putting on lipstick, perfume, or nail polish, (and especially a good hair day) can make you feel like a brand new person?!

What inspired your love of beauty?

Ever since I was a little girl I have enjoyed hair and makeup. Also, my grandmother is in her late 80s and still wears a face of makeup every day, I think it is also genetic. 😉
