Liebster Award
Thank you to That Northern Girl for nominating me for the Liebster Award!
When she told me that she had nominated me, I didn’t quite know what the “The Liebster Award” was. The word Liebster is a German word that when translated to English means: “sweetheart, beloved person, darling dear, darling; beloved, liked very much; affectionate, loving favorite, preferred above others; liked or loved above others.”
I did a bit of research and found that it is an award that is for bloggers by bloggers. It’s passed from person to person to help with the discovery of new blogs and bloggers. It is also to encourage, support, and connect the blogging community. I think that this is a really nice way to be able to support each other!

- What made you start your blog?
Often I get asked by my friends how I do different makeup looks or techniques as well as what types of makeup and brands I use. I basically started blogging because I felt as if I had some things that I could share with others. - Who/What do you look for in terms of post inspiration when blogging?
I generally keep a composition book filled with ideas to blog about. Whenever inspiration hits me, I will jot down the idea. Sometimes, the ideas make it to the blog, and other times I can’t even remember what I was thinking about at the time, haha. - If you can achieve 1 thing in life, what would it be?
Well, I have actually already achieved the one thing that I really wanted to do and that is become a wife and mother. But good marriages and good mothers don’t happen accidentally, so it is something that I have to work at every day. - Are you a home bird or would you rather be traveling the world?
While I used to be a home bird, the older I get the more I want to travel! I wish that I had done more traveling and sight seeing before I settled down with a family. - One beauty product you can’t live without and why?
It may be a bit boring, but I cannot live without CeraVe Cream moisturizer. It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. And if you have beautiful skin, the rest of your makeup just looks so much better. - Which bloggers are on you reading list?

I love Instagram! I think it is because I am a very visual person. -
Do you see yourself still blogging in 5+ years?
I don’t know for sure what I will be doing in 5 years, but I definitely am enjoying blogging now, so hopefully I will still be at it in the future. -
What is your go to fashion brand?
I love Ann Taylor clothes, and GAP
jeans.
- One of you guilty pleasures in life?
My favorite guilty pleasure is dulce de leche ice cream from Haagen-Dazs, Yum!!!!

Beauty Blogger Award
I was nominated by NotAlways Knotty for the beauty blogger award. I want to thank her, and tell you all to go check out her blog! I have really been enjoying what she has been posting. We are both new to beauty blogging, so it it really nice to be able to support each other!

NotAlways Knotty‘s Questions for me:
1. What is your favorite makeup brand?
My favorite high end brand is Tarte Cosmetics. They have the cutest packaging and I just love the quality of their products. If I had to pick my favorite drugstore brand, I’d have to go with Maybelline. I just find that overall I enjoy a lot of their products. Although, I really love L’Oreal….maybe it is a tie between the two of them.
2. What is your favorite clothing store?
I love Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft. The clothes are classic yet comfortable and fit me really well, plus, they always have great sales! (I love a great sale!) Oh, I love White House Black Market, pretty much for the same reasons I love Ann Taylor and the Loft.
3. What product are you dying to have?
I really want the Lorac Pro Pallete. I know I am eventually going to buy it, but I just haven’t splurged yet.
4. Who is your favorite beauty guru?
Hands down my favorite beauty guru is Tati from Glam Life Guru. She is not only beautiful, but she really knows her stuff! I look forward to hearing what she has to share everyday! If you don’t already subscribe to her videos on YouTube, you don’t know what you are missing! Go check her out today.
5. What is your go to style?
Hmmm, I guess my go to style is classic chic yet comfortable
6. What is your dream job?
Before I had kids, I already had my dream job, I worked on the day shift as an oncology registered nurse and I loved it. (having a day shift made me love it even more!) Now that I have kids, I have my second dream job, being a Stay at Home mom! The pay stinks, but the job is super rewarding 😉
7. What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Definitely my biggest accomplishment has been being a mother to my two awesome children. It is not always easy and it can be so tough and tiring, but knowing that I am making an impact on their two lives is the most important thing I will ever do.
8. How did you come up with the name for your blog?
“Jolie” in French means pretty or beautiful. Having the last name of Joli, it was a natural fit to call the site Looking Joli Good.
9. Where is one place you would like to travel to?
I have always wanted to go to Paris, France. It just seems like such a wonderful magical place. Although, after watching a show on Travel Channel the other night about Montreal, Quebec, Canada, now I want to go there.
10. What advice would you give another beauty/fashion blogger?
You do you! Blogging is about having fun and connecting with people! If you start to get stressed out about it, take a little break. Always be honest and try to enjoy what you are doing!

Jill GG Good Life For Less
Do you ever find yourself getting sucked into the wormhole of Pinterest?
When it comes to Pinterest, I am like Alice in Wonderland! There is so much to see and so many things to pin and read… hours slip by in what seems to be just minutes.
Whoever came up with Pinterest is genius! All the awesomeness of the internet in one easy to access place. So many sites that I would never have found otherwise!
One of these such sites is Good Life For Less. She has all these awesome posts about putting together great outfits and finding awesome sales. One of my favorite posts is this one about making 9 different outfits out of 9 pieces of clothing.
I have similar pieces to most of the ones she suggests. I wouldn’t necessarily think to put them together the way she has. Such a great idea!
