Ipsy October 2016 Glam Bag

Another month has flown by and it is now November and I cannot believe that I completely forgot to post what I got in my October ipsy glam bag!

I don’t know about you, but I always loving seeing what everyone else received in their bags every month, so I decided to post it anyway even though it is almost time for my next bag to arrive.

October’s theme was Make Some Magic

This months bag is super cute! Valfré’s drawings custom designed this month’s bag.The material it is a sturdy textured light pink faux leather with makeup inspired Halloween pictures on it. I like that the zipper is across the top and it is a nice shape. My daughter took one look at the bag and said “This one is mine!” I told her we can share it 😉

Here is what I got in my bag for October:

Beaute BasicsSatin Taupe Eye Shadow

It is super soft and creamy texture. It goes on smooth and is super blendable, you can build up the color as well as making it look smokey. I have already worn this eyeshadow several times and I really like it.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation

I received it in the shade 117=Y225 (Marble) which looks as if it is going to be a good match for me.

Here is the thing about this foundation… I haven’t used it yet, I am super excited about receiving it, but I am afraid that I am going to love it and then want to spend $43 on buying the full size of this foundation. Haha, I just might be crazy…

This is a superfine eyeliner pen that is waterproof and smudge proof. It has a pointed tip that makes it simple to get into the spaces between the lashes.

So, yeah, I have gotten a black eyeliner in my ipsy bag for 5 of the last 7 months…oh well, I guess it is a good thing I like eyeliner and wear it every day.

Preventive Measures 101 Lips 101 After Hours

I love chapstick! Well, let me rephrase that, I love smooth, creamy, not waxy, not sticky chapsticks. I really love this one. It smells sweet and fruity, kinda like a pina colada. I was in love at first swipe. It makes my lips feel so nice and moisturized!

BeFine Food Skin Care Exfoliating Cleanser

This exfoliator smells like sweet caramel almonds. It lathers up very nicely and has larger sugar granules that melt away pretty quickly. I generally like a finer grain longer lasting exfoliating experience, but I actually do like this one too. Plus the scent is so nice and yummy I wish I could eat it!

Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows

~Weekly Product Highlight~Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows~

I absolutely LOVE this product it is by far one of the best eyeshadows I have ever had. It never creases, fades, or flakes, and a little bit goes a long way and lasts all day. These shadows are packed with pigment and shimmer.They are available in 24 beautiful shades and generally cost around $7 USD. Some of my favorites shades are Always Pearly Pink, Amber Rush, and Liquid Diamond.

As you can tell from the above picture, these shadows swatch amazingly beautifully. They go onto the eyes just as beautifully. They have a velvety super smooth texture that has a cream to powder finish. The color payoff is amazingly rich without any creasing or fallout.

Amber rush is seriously gorgeous. It reminds me a lot of Chopper from Urban Decay minus the fall out. The color payoff from just a single swipe with the finger is amazing! The below swatch is one swipe of Amber Rush and Chopper is applied wet.

I have so many other high end eye shadows from MAC, Urban Decay, Lorac, and the Balm, the pigmentation of these Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows is so concentrated that I might almost say that it is better than all those other more expensive shadows.

To be honest it is not all perfection…I am going to warn you, if you don’t close the cover completely it will dry out. On the top of the little plastic protector that comes with the shadow it says Do Not Discard, it means it, don’t throw it out or the shadow will be all dried out and unusable. Also don’t press the gray insert down onto the shadow too tightly. I learned the hard way that it will squeeze out all the liquid and also cause the shadow to dry out quickly. Since they have that kind of a powder/cream consistency you cannot use a brush to apply them. (It is similar to Color Pop shadows.) They are best when applied with the fingers. If you always prefer to use a brush to apply your shadows these are not the shadows for you.

e.l.f. Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette

Has anyone tried out this new e.l.f. Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palette?

I am wondering if it is a good one worth getting? I LoVe my Mad for Matte Palette and am wondering if this one is the same level of quality. (I already have the Wet N Wild Au Natural Nude Awakenings Palette which is really good, but not all of the shadows are over the top great.) For only $10 I really can’t go wrong, I just don’t know if I want to add another palette to my collection to take up more room.

Here is what I am wearing on my face today!

I really don’t think that this Loreal La Palette gets enough love and attention in the beauty community. I really enjoy using this palette and always get compliments on my eye look whenever I use it. The Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is another one that I absolutely love. It always makes my skin look so flawless without looking heavy or cakey. I use both this crown brush and the real techniques one every day.

How ’bout Them Samples # 4

I decided to use samples that I have already received yet often neglect as part of my self imposed “strict no buy”. Since I started doing this a few months ago I have really enjoyed using and trying out new things.

I have been doing really well with not making any unnecessary beauty purchases! I don’t think that I have ever gone this long before without buying new makeup. So far, so good. I have made one purchase that was unnecessary, the Lorac Refined Romance Eye and Cheek Palette, but that was king of a no brainer purchase…you know how it goes 😉

I have so many samples from ipsy bags, or Target boxes and others from Walmart beauty boxes. I think a lot of times the excitement of getting the new things is greater than that of actually trying out and using the samples. I will let you know in a few weeks what I think of each thing and if I would purchase these items based on my thoughts from these samples.

I have heard so many awesome things about Makeup Geek products. I have been wanting to try them for a while now, but it can be so overwhelming to choose which ones to get! There are so many beautiful things to choose from! Where do I even start? Do I go for eyeshadow? blushes? both? Duo chrome, foiled, matte, pressed, loose? Do I need a z palette?

Ipsy Glam Bag September 2016

Another month has flown by! It is ipsy glam bag time again! I don’t know about you, but I always loving seeing what everyone else received in their bags every month.

I have to admit it, I looked at the sneak peak this month. I don’t always, but I did this month. When I saw what I was going to be getting I was very underwhelmed. On the bright side, I did not receive another nail polish, so that is a plus. Now that I have received the actual samples I am a tiny bit more impressed with them, but just a tiny bit.

This month’s theme is Glamazon: “Real Talk: We’re Through With Lazy Beauty. Full-on glamour is back. Put away your sweatpants, let down your ponytail and get glammed up just for the heck of it. Woke up like this? As if.”

Notice anything about the girls on this bag? Besides that they look like they have lamp shades on their heads… Look a little closer at them…Do you see it? Did you notice that they are spelling out the word ipsy. I didn’t notice at first until I was taking this picture.

It is made out of a material that is like a plastic rain coat yet faux leatherish at the same time. It has a grooved texture to it. I like the plain black side without the golden girls on it. The zipper is across the top, a feature that I prefer best, and the size and shape is good. While it is a really cute idea, overall I am not a fan of this month’s design. You can’t win them all ipsy, once again this month the bag is going to be part of my daughter’s collection.

Here is what I got in my bag:

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Teaser
It is a perfect matte transition shade for the crease. I have been using this every day since I got it. I really like the packaging. It is nice and sturdy doesn’t feel cheap at all.

In the sneak peak the shade looked so much more warm and orange than the actual shadow is. I am really happy that it is more neutral taupe and less of an orange bronze. I think that ipsy refers to it as a “chestnut shade” The actual name of the shadow is “Teaser”

As a brand on the whole, I love Too Faced, this Lip Injection gloss not so much! While the gloss itself is nice and smooth and not sticky, it burned my lips like crazy!!! The box does have a warning that the gloss may cause you to experience a slight tingling for 5-10 minutes.

I wore twice it for about 7 minutes each time and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I had to wipe it off. I think my lips are just too sensitive. My sister in law also got this in her ipsy bag and she said that it didn’t really bother her too much. As you tell from the swatch picture it even started to irritate the back of my hand and turn it red.

Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner
I have never heard of dry conditioner. I haven’t used this yet, but I sprayed it and it does smell great.

tre’StiQue Mini Highlight Stick in Maldives Luminescent
I have received several tre’StiQue products in my ipsy bags. So far I have really enjoyed them all. I have been using this as a highlight in my inner corner and on my lid. So far I really like it!
“Glow and go. This soft cream-gel formula glides on gently—brightening with what we call “adult shimmer,” perfect for any age or time of day.

Even in this swatch the DLS shadow kinda looks a little orange, but it doesn’t look so warm in person.

Loreal Colour Riche La Palette Nude

~Weekly Product Highlight~Loreal Colour Riche La Palette Nude~

I find that every time I use this palette someone will compliment my eye look. That alone is reason enough for me to recommend you buy this palette.

I went back and forth between whether I wanted to buy this Nude one or the “Nude Intense” purple/ pink hued one. I am glad that I chose this one because I really do enjoy it!

If you are looking for a good quality drugstore palette for less than $20, then this palette is perfect! The mid toned and dark colors are very pigmented. The light shimmery shades are fine, nothing super special, just ok, they still get the job done. Overall, for the price, it is a great drugstore palette.

There are 7 shimmers and 3 mattesThe mattes are creamy and easy to blend. The shimmery shadows are smooth and not overly powdery, but the lighter shimmery shadows are a bit harder to work with.

Loreal Colour Riche La Palette Nude Crease Shades | lookingjoligood.wordpress.come — These two shadows are the perfect crease transition shade!

While I usually hate the brush that comes with these types of products, I have actually used this one for applying the shadows to my lid. It is double ended with one end being a sponge tip applicator and the other is a small brush. I use the sponge tip to apply the shimmery shadows and surprisingly, I find that it works really well. The small brush side I use for applying shadows to my lower lash line.

Like Mother Like Daughter…

I brought my daughter with me to Ulta the other day.

We walked in and she was in heaven. I didn’t even tell her what to do and she started swatching up her hands. Some things are just genetic. Haha!

When we walked by the Urban Decay eyeshadows she said “These are the most beautiful things of makeup I have ever seen!” I have to agree with her. I do love all those beautiful eyeshadow colors. Her favorite color was “Divebar” which is described as a medium blue w/pink-purple shift.

When we were leaving she picked up the Tartlette In Bloom palette and said, “You can buy this pretty tarte palette for me. You already have lots of them so you don’t need it, but I don’t have any yet.”

My husband is in big trouble when she is old enough to wear makeup and we are both wanting to purchase high end products.
