Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty
Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty starts today and goes through September 26th!
I am not going to lie, when I received the flyer in the mail, I studied that thing like there was going to be a test on it!!!
I am pretty excited about some of the great deals that they are offering. Some of the sale items are things that I already have on my wish list.
Help! I Need A New Sharpener!
I have a love hate relationship with eyeliners and lip liner. I love the twist up type and hate the wooden pencil kinds. The main reason for this relationship has nothing to do with the actual type of liner, but more to do with the fact that I have a terrible sharpener.
I need your help! If you have an awesome, holy grail, must buy, super sharp sharpener I want to know what it is!
I feel like the tools are just as important as the makeup, and in this case, my make up can’t work properly because of my terrible tool!
~Weekly Product Highlight~Liquid Eyeliner~NYC’s High Definition Liquid Liner~
NYC HIGH DEFINITION LIQUID EYELINER
Did you know that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to look fabulous?! You really don’t. While it is true that sometimes high end product are better quality and easier to use, that is not always the case. As it is with NYC’s High Definition Liquid Liner! This liner costs only $3.99. I have used other more expensive and higher end liquid liners and yet I always find myself reaching for this one instead of the other higher priced liners.
It is easy to use and comfortable to hold. What I like best about this liquid liner from NYC is you can get a flawless even line with its ultra-thin felt tip that glides on super smoothly and dries quickly. Try it out for yourself and you will see that you are Looking Joli Good and saving some extra cash!
What does the NYC Website have to say about the HIGH DEFINITION LIQUID EYELINER?…
The ultimate mistake-proof application! With NYC’s High Definition Liquid Liner you can forget those messy traditional liquid formulas that require a steady hand. The chic, liquid pen delivers smooth, fast-drying results whether you want a super-thin modern line or a thick, full-blown retro cat-eye flick. And the formula is smudge-proof and long-lasting—up to 10 hours of wear! HIGH GLAM WITH MINIMAL EFFORT. UBER-BLACK PERFECTION IN AN INSTANT!
- Ultra-fine felt tip liner
- Rich, intense color. Long wearing
- Creates precise line from soft to dramatic
- Safe for use by contact lens wearers
- Long wearing up to 10 hours
- Ophtamologist tested
#beautybloggerproblems
Do you ever have this problem too? So many beautiful shades to try, not enough space for all the swatches?! Some of those colors though!!!
(I have a few swatches on my wrist and the other side of my watch as well, haha!) Good thing I always carry some wipes along with me in my purse. 🙂
Liebster Award
Thank you to That Northern Girl for nominating me for the Liebster Award!
When she told me that she had nominated me, I didn’t quite know what the “The Liebster Award” was. The word Liebster is a German word that when translated to English means: “sweetheart, beloved person, darling dear, darling; beloved, liked very much; affectionate, loving favorite, preferred above others; liked or loved above others.”
I did a bit of research and found that it is an award that is for bloggers by bloggers. It’s passed from person to person to help with the discovery of new blogs and bloggers. It is also to encourage, support, and connect the blogging community. I think that this is a really nice way to be able to support each other!
The Rules
- Thank the nominator:
- Display the award.
- Nominate 10 more bloggers with 10 new questions.
- Answer the questions provided by the Nominator.
- Notify the Nominees
- What made you start your blog?
Often I get asked by my friends how I do different makeup looks or techniques as well as what types of makeup and brands I use. I basically started blogging because I felt as if I had some things that I could share with others. - Who/What do you look for in terms of post inspiration when blogging?
I generally keep a composition book filled with ideas to blog about. Whenever inspiration hits me, I will jot down the idea. Sometimes, the ideas make it to the blog, and other times I can’t even remember what I was thinking about at the time, haha. - If you can achieve 1 thing in life, what would it be?
Well, I have actually already achieved the one thing that I really wanted to do and that is become a wife and mother. But good marriages and good mothers don’t happen accidentally, so it is something that I have to work at every day. - Are you a home bird or would you rather be traveling the world?
While I used to be a home bird, the older I get the more I want to travel! I wish that I had done more traveling and sight seeing before I settled down with a family. - One beauty product you can’t live without and why?
It may be a bit boring, but I cannot live without CeraVe Cream moisturizer. It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. And if you have beautiful skin, the rest of your makeup just looks so much better. - Which bloggers are on you reading list?
I have so many awesome bloggers on my reading list some of my favorites are Jill GG Good Life for Less, Vivianna Does Makeup, Happy Nami, Curly Spring Blossom, Online Beauty Finds, -
Out of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Tumblr which is your favorite social media outlet?
I love Instagram! I think it is because I am a very visual person. -
Do you see yourself still blogging in 5+ years?
I don’t know for sure what I will be doing in 5 years, but I definitely am enjoying blogging now, so hopefully I will still be at it in the future. -
What is your go to fashion brand?
I love Ann Taylor clothes, and GAP

~Weekly Product Highlight~ Lip Liner~Jordana Easyliner for Lips Lipliners~ Essence Lipliners~
Jordana Easy liner for lips Lipliner

These Jordana Easyliner for lips lipliners glide on smooth and creamy and last for hours. I also love that it has a twist up applicator so I don’t have to sharpen it and lose a bunch of product in the process. They are available in 13 different colors. My favorite go to is Baby Berry. So far I have only found them sold at Walgreens (and online). At only $2.50 each, I will definitely make a special trip to Walgreens!
Here is what the Jordana Cosmetics website says about the Easyliner
Retractable-No Sharpening Required
Silky Smooth Soft Glide Formula
Excellent Color Coverage; Rich Semi-Matte Finish
All-Day Wear
Convenient & Easy to Use
Made In USA
Essence Lipliner

At only $1.49 these essence lipliners are a major steal! If you don’t already own one you need this in you life! They go on smoothly and last hours. They have 8 different shades to choose from as well as a transparent liner. My favorite shades are 05 soft berry and 07 cute pink. Unfortunately, it has a wooden design, so it does need to be sharpened, but at such a low price it is still a great deal. In my area they are only available at Ulta and Ulta.com, but according to the Essence website they can also be found at Shoppers Drug Mart and Fred Meyer as well.
What does Ulta.com have to say about these lip liners…
Essence Lip Liner glides on smoothly and precisely to ensure perfect lip contours and endless hours of lipstick fun. The wooden lip liner is ideal for smudge-proof and long-lasting lip makeup.
What do you think? Have you used either of these lipliners? Do you love them? What is your favorite go to great deal lipliner?
Beauty Blogger Award
I was nominated by NotAlways Knotty for the beauty blogger award. I want to thank her, and tell you all to go check out her blog! I have really been enjoying what she has been posting. We are both new to beauty blogging, so it it really nice to be able to support each other!
I hope you enjoy this post, and thank you for the nomination NotAlways Knotty!
RULES:
- Tag the person who nominated you.
- Answer the questions you were given.
- Nominate 10 people who’s blog is about beauty or fashion.
- Make 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
- Inform the people you chose that they have been nominated

NotAlways Knotty‘s Questions for me:
1. What is your favorite makeup brand?
My favorite high end brand is Tarte Cosmetics. They have the cutest packaging and I just love the quality of their products. If I had to pick my favorite drugstore brand, I’d have to go with Maybelline. I just find that overall I enjoy a lot of their products. Although, I really love L’Oreal….maybe it is a tie between the two of them.
2. What is your favorite clothing store?
I love Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft. The clothes are classic yet comfortable and fit me really well, plus, they always have great sales! (I love a great sale!) Oh, I love White House Black Market, pretty much for the same reasons I love Ann Taylor and the Loft.
3. What product are you dying to have?
I really want the Lorac Pro Pallete. I know I am eventually going to buy it, but I just haven’t splurged yet.
4. Who is your favorite beauty guru?
Hands down my favorite beauty guru is Tati from Glam Life Guru. She is not only beautiful, but she really knows her stuff! I look forward to hearing what she has to share everyday! If you don’t already subscribe to her videos on YouTube, you don’t know what you are missing! Go check her out today.
5. What is your go to style?
Hmmm, I guess my go to style is classic chic yet comfortable
6. What is your dream job?
Before I had kids, I already had my dream job, I worked on the day shift as an oncology registered nurse and I loved it. (having a day shift made me love it even more!) Now that I have kids, I have my second dream job, being a Stay at Home mom! The pay stinks, but the job is super rewarding 😉
7. What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Definitely my biggest accomplishment has been being a mother to my two awesome children. It is not always easy and it can be so tough and tiring, but knowing that I am making an impact on their two lives is the most important thing I will ever do.
8. How did you come up with the name for your blog?
“Jolie” in French means pretty or beautiful. Having the last name of Joli, it was a natural fit to call the site Looking Joli Good.
9. Where is one place you would like to travel to?
I have always wanted to go to Paris, France. It just seems like such a wonderful magical place. Although, after watching a show on Travel Channel the other night about Montreal, Quebec, Canada, now I want to go there.
10. What advice would you give another beauty/fashion blogger?
You do you! Blogging is about having fun and connecting with people! If you start to get stressed out about it, take a little break. Always be honest and try to enjoy what you are doing!
