Every once in a while (although it has been more frequently lately) Target has been offering their own version of a beauty box. These boxes are usually awesome! Generally they are $5, but this one has 10 items in it and costs $10. The box is available now, they always sell out quickly, so you have to order it fast! I just ordered mine. Did you know that Walmart has it’s own a subscription beauty box? Yup, they do! It is a quarterly box and only costs $5 a season. Generally the box will have around 5 samples, with 1 or 2 of them being full sized products. Also in your Walmart Beauty Box, you’ll find smaller sample beauty products, coupons, and tips on how to use them. Your order will include a wide selection of trusted Beauty brands.

In my post earlier today I said that when I received my ipsy glam bag it was different than what my “glam bag sneak peak” said I would be getting in my bag this month. Well, I sent an email to ipsy customer service and within less than an hour I got this reply…

September Ipsy Glam Bag

I can’t believe that another month has flown by and it is already time to receive another ipsy glam bag! If you don’t know what ipsy is you can check out my previous post all about it by clicking HERE.

As usual, again this month my daughter was very excited about seeing what the ipsy glam bag design was going to look like. This month it is a gold faux leather bag with a raised texture pattern design with a matching tan zipper. She described this months bag as “really pretty with a ‘leatherish’ feel”.

Here is a picture of what my “glam bag sneak peak” said I would be getting in my bag this month…But it isn’t what I actually received. Too bad, because I like the items they were supposed to send me better than the ones that I got. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.
Here is what I actually did get in my ipsy glam bag this month…
-NYX Cosmetics ipsy Eye Shadow Trio- when my daughter saw this she said “That light shade will be great for all over the lid and the brown one will be perfect for the crease.” That’s my girl! The black shade swatches a bit patchy but it might be different once actually applied to the lid.

-Formula X Nail Color in Ignite- While it is a perfect for fall dark red shade, this one is going into the give away pile. As I have mentioned before, I actually hate getting nail polish samples. I get my toes done at the salon and never paint my finger nails at home.

-Crown Brush Oval Concealer Brush (C224)

-Not Soap, Radio Revitalizing Hand/Body Lotion in the scent persimmon + plum (smells quite delightful)

-tre’StiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude- The actual product itself is wonderful, I have a few other tre’StiQue products and I love them . This lip crayon is smooth and creamy, feels great on the lips, swatches beautifully. Unfortunately, the color is absolutely horrendous on my lips! I’ll spare you a picture of it!

I am jealous that this month some people got the NAOBAY Natural & Organic Oxygenating Moisturizing Cream. It is one of my favorites and I just ran out of it. I still can’t find where to repurchase it, and the site that ipsy sent me to isn’t in English, so I can’t read it well enough to purchase it. *sigh* Nothing wants to work out for me, haha.

Love With Food!

Snack smart. Do good! Love Food!

Here is what I got in my box this month with a little description of each from the Love with Food website…

Adult Complete Vitamin Pack “Who said only kids can get away with gummy vitamins? These fruity bites have enough good stuff like Omega 3s and fiber to please any doctor. Toss them back first thing in the morning to get all the good stuff you need for the day.” I didn’t personally eat the two vitamins that came in my box. I gave them to my kids and they loved them! They said that they weren’t chewy like they expected, but that instead they had a soft texture.

Gluten Free Original Mini Pretzel Crisps “All the crunchy, salty goodness of pretzels minus the gluten. Perfect for stashing in a backpack for recess or munching while tackling math homework. Or if you want to get a little fancy, serve them with cheese or dip for a great party snack.” I’m not a huge pretzel eater, so I am going to let my kids eat this one too.

This is what the love with food site has to say about the Bear Naked Caramel Apple Granola “This stuff tastes like it belongs on a decadent dessert—but with whole grain oats, it’s great brain food combined with apple-y goodness. Sprinkle it on yogurt or even just add some milk for the perfect get-up-and-go breakfast.”
I have a major sweet tooth and caramel is my very favorite!

“Jimmybar! Mini Peanut Butter Clutter‘s got all the yummy peanut butter flavor kids love in an after-school snack, without the the bad stuff like added sugar or preservatives. Whether they munch it during recess or after school, they’ll have a new favorite snack for sure.”
We haven’t opened up this one yet, but the description is pretty interesting. No added sugar or preservatives is always a good thing!

Cake Batter Cookie Thins “What’s more comforting after a long school day than cookies? With no GMOs or artificial flavors, this is one crispy treat you can feel good about. Dunk them in a cool glass of milk for the perfect treat, no matter what age you are!”

Snapea Crisps “The smooth, mild flavor of the pea is already delicious. So why mess with Mother Nature? Calbee® simply sprinkles it with a little salt to bring out the flavor and, voilà! Natural goodness, made great. Perfect for a post-workout snack, lunch side or crunchy topping on a salad, lightly salted, baked, and non-GMO Snapea Crisps are so simply good, you can eat them with anything, anywhere.”
I have had these before and I LOVE them. I think that the Caesar flavor is better than the lightly salted one, but both are tasty. (Although, the Peas of Mind and Inner Beans from Trader Joe’s are waaaaaayyyy better!)

Funley’s Super Crackers with Broccoli in each bite. “Moe was hauling fresh SUPERFOOD broccoli on the Funley’s Farm when he spilled some into a batch of Millie’s famous Cheddar cracker dough, resulting in super delicious CHEDDAR n’ STUFF SUPER CRACKERS. With superfood veggies, vitamins and minerals hidden inside, you’d never know you were eating such good stuff. Millie’s rule at FUNELY’S DELICIOUS: Moe keeps his mitts out of the mix, and all that comes from her kitchen must be ALL NATURAL, the best quality, delish and fun to eat! Moe does all the tasting. Millie does all the baking. Lucy the dog’s in charge of mischief.”

NotAlways Knotty‘s Questions for me:
1. What is your favorite makeup brand?
My favorite high end brand is Tarte Cosmetics. They have the cutest packaging and I just love the quality of their products. If I had to pick my favorite drugstore brand, I’d have to go with Maybelline. I just find that overall I enjoy a lot of their products. Although, I really love L’Oreal….maybe it is a tie between the two of them.
2. What is your favorite clothing store?
I love Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft. The clothes are classic yet comfortable and fit me really well, plus, they always have great sales! (I love a great sale!) Oh, I love White House Black Market, pretty much for the same reasons I love Ann Taylor and the Loft.
3. What product are you dying to have?
I really want the Lorac Pro Pallete. I know I am eventually going to buy it, but I just haven’t splurged yet.
4. Who is your favorite beauty guru?
Hands down my favorite beauty guru is Tati from Glam Life Guru. She is not only beautiful, but she really knows her stuff! I look forward to hearing what she has to share everyday! If you don’t already subscribe to her videos on YouTube, you don’t know what you are missing! Go check her out today.
5. What is your go to style?
Hmmm, I guess my go to style is classic chic yet comfortable
6. What is your dream job?
Before I had kids, I already had my dream job, I worked on the day shift as an oncology registered nurse and I loved it. (having a day shift made me love it even more!) Now that I have kids, I have my second dream job, being a Stay at Home mom! The pay stinks, but the job is super rewarding 😉
7. What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Definitely my biggest accomplishment has been being a mother to my two awesome children. It is not always easy and it can be so tough and tiring, but knowing that I am making an impact on their two lives is the most important thing I will ever do.
8. How did you come up with the name for your blog?
“Jolie” in French means pretty or beautiful. Having the last name of Joli, it was a natural fit to call the site Looking Joli Good.
9. Where is one place you would like to travel to?
I have always wanted to go to Paris, France. It just seems like such a wonderful magical place. Although, after watching a show on Travel Channel the other night about Montreal, Quebec, Canada, now I want to go there.
10. What advice would you give another beauty/fashion blogger?
You do you! Blogging is about having fun and connecting with people! If you start to get stressed out about it, take a little break. Always be honest and try to enjoy what you are doing!
