Influenster is a program that sends out boxes full of free stuff in hopes that you’ll use your social media influence to tell everyone you know what you think of these products.  They call these sample boxes “VoxBoxes”
It is easy to get started.  You just need to login toInfluenster.com and complete your profile by sharing some general information about yourself.  Answer some quick questions about your shopping behavior to improve your discovery experience. You will then get matched with “campaigns” that you might be interested in.
After all the questions are answered, you connect your social media accounts like Facebook, Youtube, Instagram to create your “Social Impact.” Â You can also invite your friends using your referral link to increase your social impact.
I have gotten matched up with several things that I have loved! Clairol Hair Food, Soap Box Shampoo and Conditioner, and Persil Laundry Detergent. Â I have also gotten a few things that I wasn’t really interested in…Slim Fast.
Voxboxes have full-sized free products that you get to review and keep, no charge at all. Â Some of the awesome brands that work with Influenster are Marc Jacobs, YSL, Makeup Forever, Reebok, L’Oreal, Georgio Armani, just to name a few.
Not all Voxboxes are the same some campaigns feature an assortment of products while others will spotlight one brand. One of my first posts on LGJ was about the Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation that I received from Influenster. Some of the campaigns will give you virtual “VoxBoxes” These might be coupons you can print out or different tasks to complete on social media.

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

I have wanted this since it was released! Â I received this beautiful tarte tartelette in bloom palette for Christmas from my son. Â He knows that eyeshadows are what I really want for Christmas.
The colors of the shadows included are exactly what I want for everyday use! Â These shadows are pigmented, smooth, so easy to work with and blendable. Getting a beautiful eye look takes half the amount of time it does with other shadows.
I love the way that you can go across and break this palette down into quads, creating a beautiful eye look using those four shadows together.
As you will notice in the swatches below, the shadows apply much darker than they appear in the pans. Â These swatches are applied with a dry compact flat brush and I applied a shadow primer to my arm.

Look at the difference in the color in the pan and the swatch on the shades jetsetter, sweetheart, and leader!
Packaging is super slim and so pretty, with a nice big mirror inside the cover. Â The shadows have a light sweet white chocolate scent to them… I love that!
While wearing and even more so when swatching these shadows I realized that a few of the shades reminded me of shades from my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.  The similar shadows are: flower child/ foxy, firecracker/chopper, and rocker/YDK.  (I didn’t add swatches of flower child and foxy because as you can tell from the above photo neither of them show up on my pasty white pale skin.)
Here are my cons about this palette…
1.) There’s a lot of fallout for several of the shades. Â If you look closely in the above swatches you will notice the shadows that have the most fall out. When applying the shadows I really need to tap my brush off and then tap it off again before applying.
2.) There is really no need for both the deep brown shades: smokeshow and activist. Â They are so similar to each other that having both of them in the same palette is kind of a waste. I would have preferred another lid, transition, or crease shade instead of two dark similar shades.
*If you have cooler undertones then the original Tartelette Palette is probably a better choice for you.  It is also a completely matte palette.  I don’t own it yet, but I think that it is absolutely beautiful and will probably end up purchasing it eventually.
These are the cooler shades in the Tartelette Amazonian clay matte palette. I just want to point out that the lower left shadow is called “Super Mom” and I absolutely love that!

Also included in the packaging is a card with two tutorials for different eye looks that can be made with different shadow combinations.
Overall this is a beautiful palette. Â The shades are wonderful for everyday use. Â The shadows are smooth and easy to blend.

A whole year has flown by and it is already 2017! I cannot believe how quickly 2016 seemed to go by. Â Here we are already at January and another review of the ipsy glam bag.

January’s theme is “Metropolis”

This month’s bag is super cute! Â The material it is a double layer with pale blue metallic faux leather with small circular cut out pattern on top with a silver solid faux leather below. Â According to the ipsy website “This silver stunner was inspired by skyscrapers! Wear it uptown, downtown, or wherever you’ll be slaying this month.”
Here is what I got in my bag for January:
clariSEA Instant Glow Lavender Powder Exfoliant 1 oz
Because of this being a loose powder, this exfoliator can be made as intense or as gentle as I want it to be. It is made by adding equal amounts of the salt to my cleanser. If I want to sprinkle in a little more powder I can get a little more exfoliation. Â It says that it can also be mix with water as well for a stronger scrub.
It is made with two types of salt, Pacific and Himalayan pink sea salt, and it smells like lavender. Â Pretty interesting, I can’t wait to try it out!
Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Desert Sunset #02 .05 oz/1.5gm
This is such a beautiful vivid loose pigment! It is a gorgeous shimmery champagne shade that has tiny sparkles in it.  I am a huge sucker for sparkles!
This product is made with no talc, oils, waxes or fillers. Â Swatches just don’t even do this eyeshadow justice! It is just so beautiful. I am already in love!!!
Pacifica BLUSHIOUS in Wildrose 3 grams
First off let me add that I am completely NOT complaining about getting this blush because it is absolutely beautiful!  Secondly, ipsy thinks that my makeup collection needs lots of liquid eyeliners and coral blushes, because I get one or the other in my glam bag each month.  (This is my 6th coral blush from ipsy.)
I love blush and use it every day…I may still need to retake the quiz and let them know that I am all set with blushers for now.
This shade is beautiful and it goes on a little lighter than it looks in the pan. Â Another great thing about this blush is that Pacificaâs products are all are 100% vegan, gluten- and cruelty-free.
Rimmel London Lip Conditioning Balm by Kate Moss 0.13 oz
You may remember that I have a thing for good lipglosses, chapsticks and lip balms.  Of course, I put it on immediately after opening my glam bag.  This is a delightful lip balm! Soft, creamy, and moisturizing.  My lips feel smoother and healthier while wearing this balm.  It has just the faintest sweet scent, not too much at all.
Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 in Light or Light Medium .25 fl oz / 7.1 ml
So far everything that I have tried from Smashbox has been great! Â I haven’t used this bb cream yet, but I love bb creams, so I have high hopes for this one.

I love chapstick! Well…I should rephrase that, I love smooth, creamy, moisturizing chapstick. I hate stiff waxy sticky drying chapsticks.
This Preventive Measures Lips 101 After Hours by Preventive Measures is exactly what I want from a chapstick.  It is what my chapstick dreams are made of: creamy, smooth, moisturizing, and sweet smelling!
I had never heard of thisPreventive Measures brand until I received this Lips 101 After Hours in my October ipsy glam bag.  Since receiving this chapstick I have been using it constantly.  I carry it in my pocket with me every where I go.
While the packaging is just your typical run of the mill nothing special white chapstick tube container, the product inside is anything but run of the mill. Â “The technology is a double-layered encapsulation of actives in powder form microspheres. The unique structure protects actives from premature release from oxygen and heat. Time, friction, or moisture will trigger release of the actives from the system.” I don’t know exactly how the time release feature works, but I know that it definitely does work!
The formula slides onto the lips easily without any pulling or tuggin leaving my lips feeling soft and moisturized! (I HATE it when chapstick application tugs and pulls and does more harm than good.) It smells sweet and fruity, similar to a pina colada or passionfruit flavor. Â It was love at first swipe.Â
It comes in two formulas. Â The After Hours version that I have, and an SPF 30Â broad spectrum UVA/UVB lip balm in a citrus/tangerine scent. Â The SPF 30 version keeps the lips protected and hydrated throughout the day. Both formulas include the innovative time release moisture.

Another month has flown by and tomorrow is Christmas!  I love Christmas, what a wonderful time of year!  Family, parties, food, fun, and cookies (you know I love cookies!)

December’s theme is “carpe p.m.” Forget rules, responsibilities, and to do lists. Right now, thereâs only fun! Decide to live in the moment.
While I have heard many people disagree with me, I think that this months bag is super cute!  The material a fuzzy furry pink material.  It is a nice rectangular shape with the zipper across the top.  This one has a little pull handle and it is supposed to double as a wristlet clutch “perfect for all your holiday events”!
As usual my daughter took one look at the bag and said “I Â want it!” Â As usual I told her we can share it.

This blush trio is very smooth and pigmented.  I really like that all three of the shades included are matte.  It seems as if most blushes have some sort of sparkle in them. While they are beautiful on their own, I have been wearing all three colors swirled together.  Another great thing about this blush it is also cruelty free!  Colors included are fresh melon, blackberry and guava.  How cute that they have fruit related names.
Ultra-fine pressed powders are unbelievably simple to blend, so we can go from peekaboo
Fresh Melon is a perfectly sweet pink. Blackberry teases with a hint of mauve. And Guava adds some peach flavor. All three shades look stunning on any skin tone.

Hikari Cosmetics Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Iris
When I first saw this I was not happy at all! Â I have gotten so many black eyeliners in my recent ipsy bags. Â I was planning to pass it along to a coworker. Â Come to find out, this liquid liner is actually purple. Â I will be keeping this one and giving her another unopend one that I have.
Late-night party ready. Goes on smooth and wonât smudge.
A stiff upper tip. Pointed end doesnât bend or wiggle, so we can create incredibly precise lines.
Pigmented enough to give color with one coat. But we like to intensify the hue by layering it.
NYX Professional Makeup Prismatic Shadow in Fireball
I think that ipsy has decided that this is the color of eye shadow that I need to be wearing. Â The last 6 eyeshadows that they have sent me have been some form of this shade. Â That’s ok, I like eye shadow and I like this color with my eyes.
This shadow is so pigmented!  It has super rich color with a metallic shimmer in just this one single swipe.  This eye shadow formula is awesome!  Smooth and creamy. I don’t know why I haven’t heard more about these NYX shadows.  Have any of you tried these?
Go it alone. No primer necessary to turn on the glitz and get a look that lasts.
Standout formula. Soft texture makes the shadow easy to blend, without flecks falling onto our cheeks.

Symphony Beauty Snow Cream Moisturizer
This stuff smells amazing! Â Because it was hard and frozen from being outside in my mail, I thought it was going to be the consistency of coconut oil. Â In actuality it is more like a gel. Â I haven’t used it yet, but I am looking forward to trying it out.
Zero gravity. This weightless whipped gel moisturizer feels as light and fluffy as fresh snowâand has us dreaming of a white Christmas.
Instant gratification. Absorbs immediately and leaves our faces looking fresh and hydrated.
Cut the grease. No sticky or tacky residue left behind. Just super smooth skin.

tarte Cosmetics Deluxe Maracuja Oil
I have heard really good things about this oil, so I am really excited about trying it! Â During the winter months I add a drop or two of oil to my foundation, so I will definitely get some good use out of this oil in the next few winter months.
Oils can seem scary (um hello! who wants to look greasy?!) but this multitasker left our skin quenched, nourished, and dewyânot shiny. You’ll want to have a bottle on you at all times.
Packed with complexion heroes like skin-brightening Vitamin C and repairing fatty acids
Use it for a zillion other things like frizz-fighting, on-the-go manis, makeup removal
Over all I really like this month’s bag! Â I can’t wait to see what is to come in 2017!

A while ago my sister gave me this little quad of Foil Eyeshines. They didn’t work out for her, so she figured that maybe I could try them out. Â That is a great thing about makeup, a product that doesn’t work for one person can be a winner for someone else.
The shimmer effect and beautiful colors of these foil eyeshines are outstanding! Â While they can be worn on their own, I always wear it with a primer or a base like the Milani ShadowEyez Eye Shadow Pencils.
At first look in the pans I thought the shadows would a metallic shimmer, but once applied it actually comes across as a glittery finish. Despite all the glitter, they dry quickly with a smooth texture. Â They have a similar texture and feel as Colorpop shadows…a little bouncy and wet, yet not really wet… that totally clears things up doesn’t it.
I have heard some people complain that for them these shadows wore off quickly or creased.  Or like for my sister just didn’t work out.  The website does say “Reapply as needed”, seriously though, who wants to have to reapply eyeshadow through out the day?
Personally I have worn these for more than 8 hours and it still looked beautiful. Â I think it just depends on your skin type and how oily your eyelids are. Â I found them to be a great success.
The applicator it comes with is not the typical foam tip type that most shadows come with. Â Instead it is more like a small rubber spatula. Â I don’t really find that it works well, so I just apply these shadows with my finger tips.
These quads are available in 4 different shade combinations: neutral, rose gold, purples and blues.  I have the color quad 02 ROME Lush Lavenders & Smokey Purples.  These are available for $9.99 at most drugstores.

Another month has flown by and November is half way over already!  If you are from the USA, can you believe that it is already Thanksgiving next week?!  Especially since I forgot to post October’s ipsy glam bag until the beginning of November it really seems as if the month flew by even faster!

November’s theme was “Rockstarlet: Rock out like a knockout”
This months bag is super cute!  The material it is a thick sturdy smooth cotton with makeup inspired constellations on it.  Ipsters either got black and silver or the one like I received blue and gold.  It is a nice shape. I like that the zipper is across the top and how cute is it that the zipper pull is a star?!  As usual my daughter took one look at the bag and said “I  want it!”  I told her we can share it, but I don’t plan to actual share it, haha. đ

The package it came in was quite large, but this sample is actually tiny! Â I have gotten several orange/coral blushes in my glam bags recently. Â I generally always wore more pink toned blushes, but having since tried these coral colored blushes I really like the way they look on me.

When I first saw this in my bag I thought it was ANOTHER black eyeliner. Â I only now when taking the picture for this post just realized that it is a brown pencil. Â I already have a pretty decent brow routine, so I will probably pass this along to my sister.

theBalm Cosmetics Mad Lash Mascara
The packaging is annoying the way that the top fits into the tube.  As you might be able to tell from the below picture it kind of clicks into the tube (it reminds me of the Tartiest sample mascara).  Due to the way the packaging is it makes it hard to be able to get the excess mascara off the brush .  I am not sure if it is the same for the full sized mascara, but it is annoying!

Last year I bought (and instantly fell in love with) the LORAC Love, Lust & Lace Lip Gloss Collection Gift Set. These lip glosses quickly became my favorites and I have been wearing them constantly!  My favorite from last year’s set is CEO, a beautiful dusty rose “my lips but better shade”.

At such an amazing deal of 6 glosses for $25, I was anxiously waiting for this year’s Lorac Alter Ego Sets to come out!
A few weeks ago I swatched the Happy Hour Hues set that is available at Kohls. Â Unfortunately, even though they are beautiful, I felt as if the shades available wouldn’t work well with my skin tone. Â So despite the great deal, I passed on buying the glosses.
My sister in law was at Ulta and sent me a picture of the A Lavish Affair set available there. She ask if it was the same or if the set of glosses are different.
I was so excited to discover that they had completely different glosses available at Ulta. Â While the shades are similar in each set, they are just different enough.
These glosses are highly-pigmented and have a long lasting glossy color without feeling sticky or uncomfortable.  I think that the slightly vanilla scent is a pleasant scent that I love.
The tip of the applicator works great for the cupids bow as well as getting color in the corners of your lips. Â Also the angle of the doe foot applicator gives a very smooth application.

I am so happy that I decided to buy this set.  Each of these colors is absolutely beautiful in a very different way.  I can’t decide which one is my favorite… probably Goddess, a purple tones mauve, which is another “my lips but better” shade.  So far I have really been enjoying wearing It Girl, the golden flecks are beautiful and when it wears off they still look great without looking crazy like some sparkly glosses can.  Bae is a beautiful pink toned neutral shade that is similar to Sex Symbol from the Love Lust & Lace set.
Sex Symbol from last year’s set is very similar to Bae in this year’s A Lavish Love Affair set from Ulta.
I thought for sure that Icon (cherry red) wasn’t going to work with my skin tone.  When I put it on, I realized that it is more of a glossy watermelon red than a brick red like last years Vamp red shade is. I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is.  Dominatrix (deep burgundy) was in last years set as well and it makes my teeth look extra white.  I have not worn Diva yet, but I know that I will get a lot of use out of this set.
