Today’s tip is about liquid lipstick…

Due to the long-wearing matte formula of many liquid lipsticks, they can often dry out lips. If you are a liquid lipstick lover, it is important to give your lips lots of TLC with balms and exfoliation.

O Wondrous Love

I have had this song stuck in my head for several days now.  I wanted to share it with you.

My favorite part is from verse 3

O wondrous love that sings of Calvary
The sweetest sound this sinner’s ever known
The song of Your redeeming Son
Whose wondrous love will never let me go

VERSE 1
O wondrous love that will not let me go
I cling to You with all my strength and soul
Yet if my hold should ever fail
This wondrous love will never let me go

VERSE 2
O wondrous love that’s come to dwell in me
Lord who am I that I should come to know
Your tender voice assuring me
This wondrous love will never let me go

CHORUS
I’m resting in the everlasting arms
In the ever faithful heart
The Shepherd of my life
You’ll carry me on Your mighty wings of grace
Keeping me until the day
I look into Your eyes

VERSE 3
O wondrous love that sings of Calvary
The sweetest sound this sinner’s ever known
The song of Your redeeming Son
Whose wondrous love will never let me go

CHORUS
I’m resting in the everlasting arms
In the ever faithful heart
The Shepherd of my life
You’ll carry me on Your mighty wings of grace
Keeping me until the day
I look into Your eyes

VERSE 4
O wondrous love that rushes over me
I can’t escape this river’s glorious flow
You overwhelm my days with good
Your wondrous love will never let me go
Your wondrous love will never let me go

Today’s tip is about how to get the most out of your false lashes:

  1. Start by curling your natural lashes and applying one coat of mascara so your lashes can support the weight of your falsies.
  2. Next, cut the lash band to the size of your lash line.
  3. Apply a thin layer of lash glue and wait for it to dry.
  4. Finally, start by applying the lashes on the outer corner, first moving to the inner corner, hugging the lash line tight.

Lord Move, or Move Me by FFH

The message in this song has meant a lot to me over the years!  So many times I have prayed “Lord Move or Move Me!”  There have been times when I knew I was the one that needed to move but because of my sinful nature, I knew that I couldn’t do it on my own needed God’s help to move.

“Lord Move, Or Move Me”
I can’t find the words to pray, I’m a little down today
Can You help me, Can You hold me?
I feel a million miles away, And I don’t know what to say
Can You hear me anyway?

What I need is for You to reach out Your hand
You have taught me no matter what You’d understand

Lord move in the way, that I’ve never seen before
Cause there’s a mountain in the way and a lock on the door
I’m drifting away, waves are crashing on the shore
So Lord move (move), or move me.

I’ve looked every where to find a simple peace of mind
But, I can’t find nothing on my own
So I gotta leave myself behind, take up this cross of mine
Give away everything I hold onto

Lord I know the only way is through this
But Lord, I know I need You to help me do this

Lord move in the way, that I’ve never seen before
Cause there’s a mountain in the way and a lock on the door
I’m drifting away, waves are crashing on the shore
So Lord move (move), or move me.

Lord Move, or Move Me by FFH | lookingjoligood.blog

Out of this place of complacency
To a place of fellowship with Thee
‘Cause I am weak, but Lord, You are so strong
And You know it’s been way too long
It’s been way too long

Lord move in the way, that I’ve never seen before
Cause there’s a mountain in the way and a lock on the door
I’m drifting away, waves are crashing on the shore
So Lord move (move)…

Lord move in the way, that I’ve never seen before
Cause there’s a mountain in the way and a lock on the door
I’m drifting away, waves are crashing on the shore
So Lord move (move), or move me.

Ditch The Diet for Healthy Habits

Is Your Coffee Making You Fat?!

~Ditch the Diet for Healthy Habits~

Is Your Coffee Making You Fat?!

Can we still be friends if the answer to that question is YES?!

Is there a problem when America runs on Dunkin and yet doesn’t actually run…?

dunkin donuts coffee | lookingjoligood.blog

Let’s get one thing straight: I love coffee, and in and of itself, coffee is awesome! It is actually a healthy drink option! It is filled with antioxidants and has been shown to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, can help control symptoms of Parkinson’s disease,  prevent liver disease, and even delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.  Sounds like something we should all be drinking, right?!

So if coffee is so good for us, then why am I saying that it is making you fat?!

Well, you see it is not the coffee that’s to blame. Coffee only has one calorie per 8-ounce cup.

So what is it then that is making us fat?… It is what you are putting into your coffee!

It is the sugar and the cream and the coffee creamer.

1 tsp of sugar is 15 cal
2 tbs of half and half is 40 cal
1 tbs International Delight French Vanilla “Creamer” 35 cal

How many of you are measuring out the sugar, half and half, and creamer that you are putting into your coffee? An average unmeasured pour equals four to five times the usual serving size amount.

black coffee | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

So, instead of your morning cup of coffee with flavored creamer having 35 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, and 6 grams of sugar, in reality, it is probably actually closer to 140 calories, 6 grams of fat and 24 grams of sugar.

Once you have had a second cup, and you’ve already exceeded the maximum recommended daily sugar intake of 40 grams by 8 grams.

Let’s put it into an even greater reality…that single cup of coffee with 1/4 cup of creamer equals an additional 15 pounds a year gained.

Don’t worry this doesn’t mean you need to give up drinking coffee altogether!

Try retraining yourself to actually enjoy the coffee flavor of your morning cup of coffee.

Try measuring out your sugar and using 2% (or even skim milk) instead of half and half. Start slowly reducing the amount you add to your coffee and eventually you will be able to enjoy it black.

Tip Tuesday #83

Here’s another tip for Tip Tuesday:

Today’s tip is about how to get the most out of your face makeup!

Wet n Wild setting spray | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

After I apply my primer, foundation and setting powder, I apply a few sprays of setting spray.  While applying setting spray is a great tip, that isn’t this week’s tip.  Before my setting spray is dry, I take my beauty sponge and press the setting spray into my face.  Not only does this extend the length of my makeup, but it also takes away any of the powderiness, giving the face a more natural look.

No Gym No Problem

No Gym? No Problem! #39

I love to workout with weights! I like to use 8lb weights, but 3lbs or 5 lbs is great as well!   You can always push the up button by increasing the weight.

Start with one set of each move. As you get stronger, try to do the circuit two or three times. After six weeks you can expect to see improvements in strength, muscle tone, and endurance. You will be shocked at just how strong you are!

As always…No excuses! Just do it!
