Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

You may remember my recent post last week about using Dove soap and a gentle wash cloth to wash off your makeup. Well this week’s tip is something just as simple yet I think it is another great tip…

Use Dove soap to wash your makeup brushes.

You don’t always need to spend a ton of money on fancy brush cleansers. While I do have several brush cleaners that I enjoy using For years I have been simply using Dove soap to wash my brushes. It is very effective at removing makeup and cleaning my brushes without ruining the brushes.

I keep my Dove soap for my face and the Dove soap for my brushes separate, I store both of them in a plastic travel container. It helps to keep the soap clean and fresh, while preventing it from drying out. While I enjoy the shea butter to wash my face with, the original is my personal favorite for cleaning my brushes.

Ebates… getting paid to shop online

Do you use Ebates when you are shopping online? If not you totally should! It is hard to believe that it is for real and not a scam, but it really is for real!

It seriously sounds way too good to be true! I had always been a bit skeptical, but it is really a legit thing. I signed up last year on the recommendation of my sister.

Just today I have already earned $15 back just from the online shopping I have done. I have received 4 checks this year, and one of those checks was for $25, it is literally getting paid to shop online for things that I would already be buying.

It is so easy! You simply go to the ebates site sign up with your name, email, and address and start shopping and earning cash back! You can either search through their search bar for the site you want to go to, or add their cash back button.

There are all kinds of sites that you can earn money from, Target, Kohl’s Sephora, Ulta, and Amazon just to name a few.

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

This week’s tip is something so simple yet I think it is great tip… Use Dove soap to wash off your makeup.

You don’t always need to spend a ton of money on fancy facial cleansers. For years I have been simply using Dove soap with a gentle face cloth to wash my face. It is very effective at removing makeup and cleaning my face without stripping my skin. Dove soap can also be used around the eyes without causing too much irritation.

I keep my soap in a plastic travel container to keep it clean and fresh.

While the original bar is wonderful, I have been recently using the shea butter scent. I find that all of the different scents work well, but the original and shea butter are my personal favorites.

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

Instead of using a pencil, gel, or liquid liner to line the lower lash line use eye shadow. Take a small eyeshadow brush and a coordinating eyeshadow and apply it to the outer two-thirds of the lower lash line. Blending the darker color with the inner corner color will create a beautifully seamless look along the lower lash line. This simple trick will give dimension and depth to the eyes without looking too harsh. Don’t forget to blend blend blend!

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

This tip isn’t about makeup, but it is equally as important because it is about homemade cookies.

While I try to eat healthy most of the time, I have a major weakness for homemade cookies!

If you want your cookies to stay super soft and delicious for as long as possible store them with a piece of bread. You will be amazed how well this tip works. The bread will get stale and the cookies will stay soft and delicious!

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

This is a super simple trick will make it look like light is bouncing off your eyes! Apply a light shade sparkly eyeshadow right under the eyebrow and in your tear duct. Use a light hand and simply dust it on. You will look as if you have a sparkle to your eyes.

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

The trick is to make eyes look big and bold is to create depth with your eyeshadow. You can do this by first applying a lighter colored shadow all over your eyelid. Next using a darker shade apply it in the crease of your eye above your lid. This will give dimension and depth to the eyes. Don’t forget to blend blend blend! Blending the lid color with the crease color will create a beautifully seamless look.

This week’s tip is to use coconut oil as a makeup remover

I have mentioned before that I have to wear waterproof mascara if I want my lashes to stay curled. Since it is waterproof most regular cleanser will not remove my mascara. I like to remove every single little bit of my makeup every night, so I needed to figure out a way to get all my waterproof mascara off. That is when I discovered coconut oil as a makeup remover.

Coconut oil is great for so many things, but one of my favorite things to use it for is a natural makeup remover. A small amount goes a very long way, so a jar or bottle will last a long time!

I start with my eyes since it takes a little while for the oil to breakdown the mascara. I use take one pump of fractionated coconut oil or one tiny scoop of organic unrefined coconut oil. I rub it gently on my eyes in a circular motion. I let that settle in while I remove the rest of the make up from my face.

To remove the rest of the rest of my face makeup, I gently rub coconut oil in a circular motion all over my face. I wash it all off with a warm wet wash cloth*.

*You don’t want to let the coconut oil filled water that you rinse off your face with go down the drain. Over time it will harden and clog up your pipes. Pretty gross!

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

If you have been around Looking Joli Good for any amount of time, you know that I love long lashes! I never wear false lashes, mostly because the thought of putting glue next to my eyes makes me feel grossed out.

While there are so many great lash-pumping mascaras on the market, you don’t need to spend a ton of money on one of them. Instead, after applying your first coat of mascara quickly dust some translucent powder onto your lashes. Apply a second coat of mascara over the powder and be amazed at how full your lashes look!
