Bite Sized Eyeshadow Rose Water

The little Bite Size 4 pan quad palettes from @elfcosmetics are not only amazing but they’re also only $3 USD! They’re available in 8 different quad combos with the cutest food related names such as Cream and Sugar, Pumpkin Pie, Carnival Candy, and Açaí You. Out of the eight available quads I have three: Rose Water, Berry Bad, and Cream and Sugar. They are all beautiful and great quality, but Rose Water is my favorite and most used.

Surprisingly it seems that every time I use the shadows in the Rose Water quad someone will compliments me on my eyeshadow look. I’ve hit pan on my original quad, so I’ve already repurchased another new one.

Does Manuka Honey and Yogurt Really Make A Difference In The Health Of Your Hair? The Results From This $12 Product Will Shock You

Ever since I was younger I have always been obsessed with smooth, soft, shiny hair. I’ve used all kinds of different types of products with various results. I love when I find a winner and hate when it is a waste of time and money!

laura | Lookingjoligood.blog

I’ve been a fan of Shea Moisture kids detangler for a few years now, so I figured I would branch out and try some of their other products. I fell in love, and I have a feeling you will not be disappointed either!

I cannot say enough about the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt Hydrate and Repair Protein Power Treatment! There’s a noticeable difference in the feel and look of my hair when I use this treatment.
Marketed more towards curly hair, this product would be great for all hair types.

The scent is amazing. Not coconut or floral or fruity like a lot of hair care products, just a pleasant scent. I use this treatment once a week, and a little bit of product goes a long way, so the 8 oz last a long time.
They also make a conditioner and leave in with the same scent. Priced around $12 each, I 10/10 recommend these hair care products!

So the answer to the question: Does Manuka Honey and Yogurt Really Make A Difference In The Health Of Your Hair? Yes, yes it does!

What about you? Have you tried any thing from the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt Line or used many of the other Shea Moisture products? Did you notice any difference in the health of your hair? Do you love the way it smells?? Let me know in the comment section below.

Goodbye Sweet Tessie, Forever In My Heart

We made the extremely hard decision to say goodbye to Tessie this past week.🌈

The Vet came to the house so we could be with her. Despite knowing it was the right decision and that this day was approaching, we weren’t ready. My heart is broken. I miss her so much it’s hard to breathe. 💔😭💔

My only consolation is that during this time of Covid sheltering in place, we’ve all been together non-stop. I’m so so so thankful for that time with her. No guilty feelings about her being alone for long periods of time while we were at work or school. 💔😭💔

My best friend forever, my loyal side kick. There is a Tessie sized hole in my life. She will be loved forever and missed always. ❤️

Tessie Mae: April 30,2006-August 11, 2020 🌈❤️🐼😭💔🌈

I love you sweet Tessie

Healthy and Happy

Healthy and happy is way better than skinny and sad.

There’s always that little voice inside that can trick us into thinking that losing 5 more pounds will make us happier.

Don’t listen to the lies that society tells us. Skinny does not equal happy…and skinny does not always equal healthy. On the same note, if being skinny causes you to be mentally unhealthy that is just as bad.

Is There Still HOPE?!

Barbara HOPE | lookingjoligood.blog

HOPE: /hōp/
noun
1. a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
synonyms: aspiration, desire, wish, expectation, ambition, aim, plan, dream,
2.a feeling of trust.
verb
1.want something to happen or be the case.
synonyms: expect, anticipate, look for, wait for, be hopeful of, pin one’s hopes on, want

I lost a good friend last week, Barbara.

I had so much HOPE that God would heal her, HOPE that she would be whole again, HOPE that things would return to normal, HOPE that cancer would lose and we would win her back again. HOPE that this would be the end of a chapter in her life and not the end of life.

That wasn’t God’s plan.

Does that mean that I have lost HOPE?!
Absolutely not! I HOPE that I can be as kind and friendly as Barbara was. I HOPE that like Barbara when people leave my presence they feel better and happier for having been with me. I HOPE that I can praise God despite not being able to breathe. I HOPE that my life can be like Barbara’s, at the mention of my name people cry because they miss me but quickly start to smile and laugh because of all the happy and good things. I HOPE it can be said of me “well done.”

Today we will celebrate the wonderful and full life of Barbara. I have HOPE because I will see her again in Heaven.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a HOPE.
Jeremiah 29:11

Cancer Cannot!

Cancer cannot | lookingjoligood.blog
I’ve spent the majority of my professional nursing career fighting cancer. Sometimes it seems as if I’m helping in the battle, and sometimes Cancer has the upper hand.

Cancer is a thief, a time stealer, a heartbreaker.

Cancer thinks it is so strong. Cancer feeds off of fear. Cancer knows hearing its name attached to the one you love will knock you off your feet and send your head spinning. Cancer thinks that it’s is unstoppable.

There are so many things that cancer cannot do.

Cancer Cannot | lookingjoligood.blog

Cancer cannot annihilate love,  terminate peace, trample hope or diminish faith.
Cancer cannot silence praise or quitet laughter.
Cancer cannot destroy friendship or remove memories.
Cancer cannot squash courage, suppress motivation, or cripple inspiration.
Cancer can weaken the body but it cannot conquer the soul or destroy the spirit.
Cancer can shorten life but it can never steal eternal life.
God's Way Is Perfect | lookingjoligood.blog
It is hard to believe anything good can come from the disappointment and pain of loss.  Trusting God in difficult times leads to a stronger faith. He’s always with us and will use hard times in our lives to make us stronger, wiser, more patient, and more compassionate, more like Him.
I lost a close friend to cancer today. Cancer may be able to separate us here on Earth, but it cannot take away our eternal life together in Heaven.

The Original Naked Palette by Urban Decay

I love glitter! If it shimmers and shines I’m into it! Recently though, I have been keeping my makeup look more simple. I have been using the matte shades in the original Naked palette by Urban Decay Cosmetics and I am very pleased with the results!

the original Naked palette | lookingjoligood.blog

When they announce that the original Naked palette was going to be discontinued I tried to talk myself out of buying it. Do I need another eyeshadow palette… NOPE! Did I buy another eyeshadow palette… YUP! Did anyone else fall for the hype?!

the original Naked palette | lookingjoligood.blog

I’m really glad that I did buy it though because I am in love with it! I have several other palettes from Urban Decay, but so far this is the one that I have found myself reaching for the most.

I have no idea why in the world they chose to discontinue this palette?!  As one of the first ever eyeshadow palettes that most people purchased, it is so iconic!  I don’t know, but I have a feeling that something has got to be in the plans to eventually bring it back from the dead.

In the meantime, if you wanted to add this palette to your collection, I hope that you did when you had the chance. I’m glad that I gave into the hype!

Counting Every Blessing

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. Every year during the month of November I try to be even more focused on being grateful.  Gratitude really does turn what we have into enough.

Whenever I find my attitude is sour, if I instead focus on the good and all the blessings that I have, I find that my outlook and attitude changes.  I’ve been blessed beyond all measure!

I found myself humming this song and wanted to share its great message.

Counting Every Blessing

Rend Collective

Songwriters: Gareth Gilkeson / Chris Llewellyn / Bridget Herron / Ali Gilkeson / Will Herron / Steve Mitchell / Patrick Thompson
Ooh, ooh
I was blind, now I’m seeing in color
I was dead, now I’m living forever
I had failed, but you were my redeemer
I’ve been blessed beyond all measure
I was lost, now I’m found by the father
I’ve been changed from a ruin to treasure
I’ve been given a hope and a future
I’ve been blessed beyond all measure
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Letting go and trusting when I cannot see
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Surely every season you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
You were there in the valley of shadows
You were there in the depth of my sorrows
You’re my strength, my hope for tomorrow
I’ve been blessed beyond all measure
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Letting go and trusting when I cannot see
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Surely every season you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Surely your goodness pursues me
Surely your heart is still for me
I will remember your mercies all my days
Through every storm and gale
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Letting go and trusting when I cannot see
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Surely every season you are good to me
I am counting every blessing, counting every blessing
Letting go and trusting when I cannot see
I am counting every blessing, I’m counting every blessing
Surely every season you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
For your goodness, I will ever praise you
Oh, you are good to me
Oh, you are good to me
Sing it out now
Oh, you are good to me
In my hurting
Oh, you are good to me
I’ll sing it loud
Oh, you are good to me
Even in the dark
Oh, you are good to me
Lift your voices
Oh, you are good to me
All the time
Oh, you are good to me

Antisocial Media

Recently took a long break from IG. During that time my perspective on a lot of things changed. During that break, I realized there are a lot of things about IG that I didn’t miss at all… There were also a few things that I did miss, like interacting with people about beauty products, so for now, I’m back at it. (If you want you can follow me by clicking HERE, if not that’s totally fine too. 😉)
When I first joined IG it used to be about fun. It used to be regular people sharing regular pictures of things that were happening right then. (Hence the “instant” part of the name Instagram). In the beginning, there were simple filters, but there were no ultra edited photos of picture-perfect situations. When Instagram decided to take the instant out of the equation, everything changed and it changed a lot of people too.
Instagram started to feel like a competition. When life turns into a competition we all lose. We lose the fun of it, we lose confidence in ourselves, we lose time thinking about it, we lose respect for people.
I don’t care to compete with the edited versions of life. I will not judge myself based on another person’s pictures, persona, or IG layout, and you shouldn’t either!
I don’t care about the number of likes or what the insight says. It doesn’t matter to me what is the best time of day to post or the # getting the most views. During my 4 month break, I didn’t miss keeping track of that stuff.  I don’t want to be “Instagram famous”! I’m just planning to post pictures of the things I like, the products I love and things I want to share with people.  I’m not perfect and my pictures aren’t going to be either.
So, if you want to follow me onInstagram, cool, but if you don’t also cool. Either way, what I post on IG will be a representation of me and all the things I like… mostly makeup, flowers, my dog, and inspirational sayings.
