LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset Is A Game-Changer and Delivers Astonishing Results!

Laura | Lookingjoligood.blog

About two years ago, I decided to incorporate a hair growth serum and hair, skin, and nail vitamins into my daily routine. Firstly, let me share my experience with the hair growth serum. To my delight, I noticed a remarkable improvement in the overall texture and appearance of my hair. It became shinier, more manageable, and smoother. My hair felt stronger, and I observed less breakage and fewer split ends. The serum worked wonders in enhancing the health and beauty of my hair.

In addition to the hair serum, I decided to incorporate hair, skin, and nail vitamins into my daily supplement routine. These vitamins contained a blend of essential nutrients known to support hair health, such as biotin, vitamins A, C, and E, and various minerals. Within a few weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in the overall strength and resilience of my hair and nails. It felt thicker, and I could see a noticeable increase in hair growth on my scalp. I was delighted by the results, as my hair had always been on the thinner side.

However, alongside the intended growth on my scalp, I noticed the effect on my body hair as well… While I didn’t expect any significant changes in this aspect, I noticed that my leg hair, facial, and under arm hair appeared to grow faster and thicker than before. Initially, this surprised me, even though I realized it was a natural part of my body’s response to the supplements, I was not happy. My choice was to either give up the serum and vitamins, giving up my great results, or learn to live with the additional hair growth…Neither option was something I wanted to do.

Around this time last year I purchased the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset, and I must say it has completely exceeded my expectations. This little device has become my go-to solution for achieving smooth and hair-free skin. With its incredible effectiveness and ease of use, I can confidently say it’s a game-changer for my hair removal.

Firstly, let’s talk about the product details. The LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset is a compact and sleek device that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. It utilizes Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology, a safe and clinically proven method of hair removal. The handset emits pulses of light that target the hair follicles, effectively disrupting their growth cycle and resulting in permanent hair reduction over time.

What sets the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset apart is its remarkable performance. Despite its small size, it delivers powerful results. The handset features five adjustable energy levels, allowing you to customize the intensity to suit your skin type and hair color. This versatility ensures optimal effectiveness for a wide range of users.

Using the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset is incredibly simple and convenient. To start, make sure your skin is clean, dry, and free from any lotions or creams. Connect the device, select your desired energy level, and place the handset against your skin. The device has a built-in safety mechanism that ensures it only emits light pulses when in full contact with the skin, providing added peace of mind during the treatment.

The handset’s ergonomic design makes it easy to maneuver across different body parts. Whether you’re targeting your legs, underarms, bikini line, or even your face, the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset glides smoothly, allowing for a quick and efficient treatment session.

What truly impressed me about the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset is the results it delivers. After just a few weeks of regular use, I noticed a significant reduction in hair growth. With continued use, I have experienced even greater and longer-lasting results. It’s incredible to think that I have achieved professional-quality hair removal in the comfort of my own home.

Moreover, the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset is a cost-effective alternative to expensive salon treatments, as well as other similar at home hand held devices (Their prices are usually 30-50% lower than other brands). By investing in this device, you can save a substantial amount of money in the long run while achieving similar, if not better, results.

Pros:

It targets the hair follicles, disrupting their growth cycle and resulting in permanent hair reduction over time.
  2. Convenience of home use: With the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset, you can enjoy the convenience of hair removal treatments in the comfort of your own home. This eliminates the need for frequent salon visits or appointments.
  3. Customizable energy levels: The handset features five adjustable energy levels, allowing you to customize the intensity to suit your specific skin type and hair color. This ensures optimal effectiveness and safety for a wide range of users.

Cons:

  1. Individual results may vary: The effectiveness of IPL hair removal can vary from person to person based on factors such as skin tone, hair color, and hair thickness. Some individuals may experience better results than others. (I am the perfect candidate due to my light practically see through skin and dark almost black hair)
  2. Time commitment: Achieving long-lasting results with IPL hair removal requires consistency and patience. It typically involves multiple treatments spread over several months to receive the best results.
  3. Sensations during treatment: Some people may experience mild discomfort or a sensation of heat during IPL hair removal treatments. However, this can vary depending on your sensitivity. I don’t think that it is very uncomfortable, but I have a high pain tolerance and I was highly motivated to make it work.
  4. Not suitable for all skin and hair types: IPL technology may be less effective on very light or gray hair and is generally not recommended for dark skin tones. Make sure that you are a suitable candidate for IPL hair removal before making a purchase.
  5. Safety precautions: It’s very important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidelines provided with the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset to minimize the risk of adverse effects, such as burns or skin irritation.
  6. The cord is relatively short, which may limit flexibility during use.

It’s always recommended to research and consider these pros and cons, along with your personal circumstances and preferences, before deciding if the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset is the right choice for you.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset to anyone seeking a reliable, effective, and affordable solution for hair removal. With its impressive performance, ease of use, and noticeable results, this device has truly revolutionized my approach to achieving silky-smooth skin. I have had amazing results beyond what I thought would be possible with the LUX SKIN® IPL Laser Hair Removal Handset!

Review of OGX Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Penetrating Oil

OGX Coconut Miracle Oil | lookingjoligood.blog

I recently stumbled upon a true miracle in a bottle – OGX Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Penetrating Oil. This product has been an absolute game-changer for my hair. With its heavenly coconut scent and luxurious formula, it has become an essential part of my daily beauty routine. Allow me to share my experience and provide you with all the details you need to know about this exceptional product.

Product Details:
The OGX Coconut Miracle Oil comes in a compact and travel-friendly 100ml/3.3fl oz bottle. Its vibrant packaging perfectly reflects the tropical goodness that awaits inside. Infused with pure coconut oil, vanilla bean extract, and essence of tiare, this formula is designed to deeply nourish and rejuvenate your hair.

Instructions for Use:

OGX Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil Penetrating Oil | lookingjoligood.blog

For vibrant, silky-smooth hair, apply a small amount (one or two drops) of the oil onto your palms. Gently massage it onto your damp or dry hair, starting from the mid-lengths to the ends. Avoid applying it directly to the scalp. Comb through your hair to ensure even distribution. Leave it on for a few minutes or overnight for an intensive treatment. Rinse thoroughly, and style as desired.

Benefits and Results:
I can’t stress enough how remarkable the results of using OGX Coconut Miracle Oil have been for me. Not only does it leave my hair feeling incredibly soft and lustrous, but it also helps tame frizz and flyaways, giving my locks a natural shine.

One of the things I appreciate the most about this oil is its versatility. I use it as a pre-shampoo treatment, a leave-in conditioner, and even as an overnight hair mask.

The delightful coconut fragrance lingers throughout the day, providing a refreshing and tropical scent that instantly lifts my spirits. The lightweight texture ensures that the product absorbs quickly, allowing me to enjoy its benefits without any heaviness.

lookingjoligood.blog

Something I don’t like…

The packaging of the OGX Coconut Miracle Oil is really cute, but I don’t love the spout through which the oil is dispenses. While this product requires only a tiny quantity, the current opening does not facilitate a controlled release of just one or two drops at a time. I transferred a portion of the oil into a spare glass container with a dropper that I had, it is so much easier to use a dropper for precise dispensing.

In conclusion, OGX Coconut Miracle Oil has become my go-to beauty elixir. It works wonders for both my hair, providing intense nourishment and leaving me feeling pampered. If you’re looking for a product that combines the goodness of coconut oil with a luxurious experience, I highly recommend giving OGX Coconut Miracle Oil a try. Your hair will thank you!

Disclaimer: Always perform a patch test before using any new product, and discontinue use if any irritation occurs.

Does Manuka Honey and Yogurt Really Make A Difference In The Health Of Your Hair? The Results From This $12 Product Will Shock You

Ever since I was younger I have always been obsessed with smooth, soft, shiny hair. I’ve used all kinds of different types of products with various results. I love when I find a winner and hate when it is a waste of time and money!

laura | Lookingjoligood.blog

I’ve been a fan of Shea Moisture kids detangler for a few years now, so I figured I would branch out and try some of their other products. I fell in love, and I have a feeling you will not be disappointed either!

Shea moisture kids detangler | lookingjoligood.blog
Shea moisture kids detangler

I cannot say enough about the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt Hydrate and Repair Protein Power Treatment! There’s a noticeable difference in the feel and look of my hair when I use this treatment.
Marketed more towards curly hair, this product would be great for all hair types.

The scent is amazing. Not coconut or floral or fruity like a lot of hair care products, just a pleasant scent. I use this treatment once a week, and a little bit of product goes a long way, so the 8 oz last a long time.
They also make a conditioner and leave in with the same scent. Priced around $12 each, I 10/10 recommend these hair care products!

So the answer to the question: Does Manuka Honey and Yogurt Really Make A Difference In The Health Of Your Hair? Yes, yes it does!

What about you? Have you tried any thing from the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Yogurt Line or used many of the other Shea Moisture products? Did you notice any difference in the health of your hair? Do you love the way it smells?? Let me know in the comment section below.

Revitalift Triple Power Deep-Acting Moisturizer 1.7oz -L’Oreal® Paris $17-$25

Loreal Revitalift triple power moisturizer/hydrant | lookingjoligood.blogI have been using the Loreal Revitalift Intensive Anti-aging Day cream Moisturizer for about six months now.  Along with a few other skin care products in my routine, I have seen a huge improvement in my skin’s overall condition.

The product claims are “Visibly reduce wrinkles. Re-firm skin. Smooth skin’s texture.”  I’m not going to say that it has made my “wrinkles” and fine lines go away, or maybe even lessen, but I feel as if using this moisturizer consistently has helped to make my skin look brighter and more youthful.  I have not noticed any “re-firming” but I have noticed an increased smoothness to my skin’s overall texture.

Laura Smile | lookingjoligood.blogIt is a medium consistency off-white cream that absorbs quickly into the skin making it perfect for being worn under makeup.  It provides a deep moisture to the skin without feeling thick, greasy, or heavy on the skin.  Not too much is needed, and I find that if I apply too much at once it does seem to ball up on itself.REVITALIFT Triple Power Intensive Anti-Aging Day Cream Moisturizer | lookingjoligood.blog

Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray

~Weekly Product Highlight~ Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray ~

Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray | lookingjoligood.blog
Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray

Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray

For a while, I have been going back and forth between growing my hair out and cutting it into a pixie cut.  As for now, the longer hair is winning…

Since I am trying to grow out my hair it is more important than ever to protect it from heat damage.  While I don’t heat style or blow dry my hair every day, I do still want to protect it on the days that I do.

Laura | lookingjoligood.blog
My hair is growing, slowly but it’s growing!

A heat protectant works by forming a protective barrier over the hair cuticle preventing the heat from damaging the hair.  A heat protectant will also add moisture to your hair as well as preventing the natural moisture from evaporating as the hair is heat styled.

When I first decided I wanted a heat protectant I tried a few different oils.  So far, the oils have just been too heavy for my fine straight hair.  Maybe once my hair is a bit longer I can use one on just the ends, but for now, no good.

I did a bit of research and decided to give this Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray a try.  It claims to:

  • Reacts with heat to reduce blow-dry time
  • Shields against heat damage
  • Formulated with fibralock technology
  • Heat protectant spray for all heat tools

Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray | Lookingjoligood.blog

I want my hair to be protected from heat, but I don’t want a product that is going to make my already fine oily hair look thinner and more oily. Thankfully, instead, when I use this spray, my hair looks sleek and shiny all day.  It doesn’t weigh my hair down at all.  It has a nice clean scent that lasts all day!

Due to my fine hair, it takes me no time at all to blow dry my hair anyway, so I cannot testify as to whether or not this spray cuts down on drying time.  It does make heat styling my hair quicker and easier due to the fact that my hair smooths into place more effectively.

There are several other heat protectant products from Loreal in this line.  I’m planning to try out a few others.  I’ll let you know if any of them work as well as or better than this one.Loreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray | Lookingjoligood.blog

If you are looking for a product to help protect your hair while also adding a smooth shine, I recommend this product.

What does the Loreal Website have to say about the  LorealAdvanced Hairstyle Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray

“DESCRIPTION
Reacts with heat to reduce blow-dry time. Shields against heat damage. Formulated with fibralock technology.
Our lightweight primer formula accelerates your routine by cutting blow dry time while protecting hair from heat damage.

HOW TO

Apply on clean damp hair. Spray evenly 6-8 inches away from hair. Blow dry as usual.

INGREDIENTS

CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, ISODODECANE, C12-15 ALKYL BENZOATE, PARFUM/ FRAGRANCE, C11-13 ISOPARAFFIN, DIMETHICONOL, ISOHEXADECANE, LINALOOL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, BENZYL SALICYLATE, LIMONENE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, COUMARIN.”

Next, I plan to try out the ADVANCED HAIRSTYLE SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray.

Cowlicks!

cowlick | lookingjoligood.blog

Growing up it was my dream to be a hairdresser!  Although I didn’t end up choosing that as my career, all throughout nursing school I made extra cash by cutting the hair of all the girls that lived in the dorms.

Fast forward a decade and a half, (wow, has really been that long…)  I am still interested in cutting hair.  I don’t do as many haircuts as I did back in the day, but the ones that I do are more important to me because they are on my own head and the hair of my kids and husband.

I have been subscribed to Matt Beck’s YouTube channel for a while now.  He has so many awesome tips and tricks for cutting hair and getting the best style from your cut.

I have some crazy cowlicks going on in my hair!  Both my son and daughter have similar cowlicks as well.

There is always something new to learn and always some new technique to make things easier and the haircuts look better!

Pantene Overnight Miracle Repair Serum Review

~Weekly Product Highlight~ Pantene Overnight Miracle Repair Serum Review~

I love Pantene!  Pantene makes my all time favorite shampoo and conditioner!  Even when I have used other higher end hair care brands, I always end up coming back to Pantene.

You may remember, I have extremely straight fine somewhat oily hair that I wear styled in a medium-short graduated bob with side swept bangs.  Since my hair is somwhat oily, I have to wash and style it every day.  I have never been able to get away with “second-day” hair. *sigh*

All that washing and styling can be tough on the hair.

I am a firm believer in prevention!  I prefer to prevent my hair from damage before it even happens!  This Pantene Overnight Miracle Repair Serum is perfect for what I need. It not only prevents damage, but it also helps erase any damage I might have while I sleep.

pantene overnight miracle | lookingjoligood.blog

One of the things that I like best about this Overnight Miracle Repair Serum is
that it quickly repairs my hair and leaves it feeling soft and strong without having a heavy, sticky, or oily feeling.  It is not heavy and does not weigh the hair down.

I apply this product on the ends of my hair to about mid-way up the hair shaft. If I really want an extra deep conditioning, I will apply it all over my hair even on my scalp. Since I have short fine hair, I can get away with using only one pump or two if I am going for a deeper all over the head application. Since I use only one pump at a time, this almost 5 fl oz bottle lasts me a really long time!

It is a transparent white thin cream, that has a beautiful light pleasant clean scent. One pump gives about a quarter sized amount of product.

Pantene Overnight Miracle Repair Serum | lookingjoligood.blog

What does the Pantene website have to say about  it:

“System erases 6 months of damage in 1 use

Don’t lose sleep over damage—lose the damage while you sleep. This easy-to-use overnight treatment will give your hair a shiny, smooth, soft wake-up call  that is weightless and non-sticky, and leaves no residue on your pillow.

USAGE:
WHO: Those who have damaged, stressed, and overworked hair; gentle enough for those who perm or color-treat

WHEN: Nightly, on wet or dry hair to noticeably repair damaged hair

HOW: Apply 1 to 2 pumps to hair—starting at the bottom and working your way up—stopping about mid-shaft. No need to wait or even rinse—go right to bed!”

If you feel as if your hair could use some extra moisture and conditioning as well as a bit of repair, I definitely recommend you give this Overnight Miracle Repair Serum a try.  A 4.9 fl oz bottle costs only around $6.50.

What about you, have you ever used this Pantene Overnight Miracle Repair Serum?  Did you feel like it made a difference in your hair? I would love to hear what you think?

Love and Life

Hair or There

So my beauty friends, who knows the struggle of wanting to cut all your hair off yet wanting to grow it out at the same time?! I have gotten to the point where I need something new!  I know so many of you have been hair before too. (I am so punny, I know:-))

I have very straight thin somewhat oily hair (meaning I wash it every day or look like a hot mess.)  Oh, and did I forget to mention the crazy cowlicks, yeah, I have a bunch of them too!

I have had a similar hair cut for several years now. I tend to wear my hair in some form of a graduated bob that is medium short, just between the chin and shoulders, with medium length side swept bangs.

laurajoli | lookingjoligod.blog

I am not complaining about the style that I wear it in now, I think that it looks good on me and is so easy to do.  I just feel like I am wanting something different…

“Hair” is a little history of my past styles…

college hair | lookingjoligood.blog
Wow, look at those eyebrows! I didn’t realize that my eyebrows have been on fleek since college, haha!  😉

In college, (15ish years ago) I kept my hair quite short and layered in a pixie cut.  It was very easy to do and manage while living in humid Florida, and also had to wear a nursing cap while at clinical in the hospital. (I am not even kidding!).

wedding | lookingjoligood.blog

Like every bride, I had planned to grow out my hair for my wedding, but my husband prefers my hair shorter, so I cut it a few months before we got married and wore it curled half up and half down.

growing out long hair | lookingjoligood.blog

I really liked my hair at this length.  I think that it was very manageable and didn’t look too thin.

This above photo is from around 11 years ago.  I had been growing out my hair for about 11 months at this point. Also, look at that tan!  We had just come back from a vacation to California.

long hair dont care | lookingjoligood.blog

As you can tell from the above photo, the growing out process went very well…maybe a bit too well.  My hair thrived while I was pregnant with my son,  it quickly grew so thick and so long!  Unfortunately, as with many women, once I had my son, my hair started falling out like crazy!  About 9-10 months after my son was born I cut my hair into a medium length bob.

short hair | lookingjoligood.blog

About 4 years ago, I decided that I wanted to cut my hair much shorter again.  I also switched the side I part my hair on, and cut side swept bangs.  I think this length might be considered a long pixie cut. The shorter my hair is the thicker it looks.  While I did really like my hair like this, it required a lot of upkeep with constant haircuts and I had to style it every day.

Beaute Basics 3 Tone Bronzer | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

This past summer I cut thicker bangs and wore them a bit less side swept.  I do like shorter bangs, but they require a lot of upkeep.  Also, bangs are kinda like avocados, they are only perfect for such a short amount of time.

Hello! I'm Laura Joli from Looking Joli Good! | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Despite this being a picture from last Easter, this is how my hair is usually styled: graduated bob medium short between the chin and shoulders with medium/long length side swept bangs.

I’m not sure what I am planning to do next.  I may grow it out for a bit… end up with hair down to my waist again (my husband is not a fan of that, so probably not), I may cut it into a pixie cut again.  We’ll see.

What do you think?  Any tips and tricks on how to make thinner hair look thicker when it is grown out?

Tip Tuesday #29

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesday!

Tip Tuesday: Make up tips and tricks every Tuesday | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Here is a tip to help you to get what you want out of your trip to the hair stylist…

First of all, be realistic about what you are asking for and how it is going to look on you.

Sometimes we look at a picture of a celebrity and think that we want to have the same style that they have.  Sometimes we forget to take into consideration what our own hair’s type, tone, and texture is.  Also think about the shape of your own face as opposed to the face of the celeb that you might want to look like.

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have heart shaped faces, so if you have a round or square shaped face, you won’t look as good with the same haircut that looks best on the two of them.

hair styles for faces shape | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Although, if you have a heart shaped face like Taylor, consider a layered cut with lots of volume and a side part.

If you have a round face like Sarah Hyland or Jennifer Lawrence your best bet is to tone down the volume.  You don’t want to make your round face look wider than it is long. Wearing your hair with a deep side part will help slim your super-symmetrical face.

Maybe you are like me and have an oval face.  Lucky for us, we have the most adaptable face shape when it comes to choosing a hair style. Pretty much any length, cut, or part will work.

Maybe your face is square shaped like Olivia Wilde or Lucy Liu.  Soft curls, long layers, as well as shorter in the back longer in the front hair styles are best for you.

Of course, you can wear your hair whichever way makes you feel most beautiful.  But if you are looking for a change, these are some good tips to follow.

Tip Tuesday Make up tips and tricks every Tuesday | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

I have chin length, very straight, somewhat thin/fine hair (which is the main reason I keep it short).  My hair is also more on the oily side, therefore, I have to wash it every day.  All that being said, that doesn’t mean that I never use dry shampoo.  I just use it for a completely different reason.

My tip for today is to use dry shampoo to add volume your hair.

Holding the can about 6-8 inches away from my head, I section apart my clean dry hair and spray the dry shampoo at the roots. I let it dry while I do my makeup and then style my hair as usual.  The only difference is that I have a lot of added volume!  Also, my hair doesn’t really hold much of a style, but if I spray it with dry shampoo first I can get a better curl or tease.

Let me know if you try it and what you think!
