Is The Wet N Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator Worth the Hype?

Wet N Wild Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator | lookingjoligood.blog

Are you familiar with all the buzz surrounding the Wet n Wild Beauty Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator? Initially, I had doubts, but considering its affordable price of only $5 USD, I thought it was worth giving it a go.

Let me tell you, the hype is real! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using this product.

The formula is lightweight yet highly effective. During my initial application, I accidentally used too much because I underestimated its potency. It works perfectly if you prefer a more subtle look, but it can easily be built up to provide closer to a medium coverage as well.

I must note that it’s not the most long-lasting formula. Typically, I get about 6 hours of wear before it starts to break up. If I have the opportunity to freshen up in the middle of the day, I can stretch it to around 8 hours. However, by the 12-hour mark, it tends to break down significantly and doesn’t look very good at all.

I have tried both the shades Porcelain and Fair. They are quite similar, with Porcelain having a more pink undertone, while Fair leans towards a brown/yellow undertone. One thing to keep in mind is that both the Porcelain and Fair tended to oxidize quite a bit.

Considering its price point, this product absolutely lives up to the hype! Also, Wet n Wild products are Cruelty-Free, Vegan, and not tested on animals. There are 11 different shades available.

The Wet n Wild Beauty Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator has generated a lot of excitement, and for good reason. How about you? Have you tried it? What do you think?

The $13 Face Cream That Will Change Your Life

If you and I have ever discussed skin care, more than likely I have recommended the Cerave moisturizing cream to you.
I have repurchased this cream over and over again, I cannot live without it! While I always use it on my face every night and any day that I’m not wearing makeup, it’s also great as an all over the body moisturizer for the dry winter months. A little bit goes a long way and it is so comforting to the skin while it makes the skin so soft.

It is available with or without the pump. It costs around $16 with the pump and about $13 without it. In my personal opinion the pump is worth every penny! I purchased the moisturizing cream with the pump once, and just replace the new tub’s cap with the old pump every time I purchase a new tub.

There are almost always coupons in the mailer advertisements. I actually got a $4 off coupon sent to me just the other day. If you never get anything else that I recommend, you’ve got to get this Cerave moisturizing cream. You’ll be glad you did!

Another Cerave product that I highly recommend is the Cerave SPF 30 Facial Moisturizing Lotion.

You Won’t Believe What $10 Serum Has Made My Eye Lashes Grow!

eye lash serum | lookingjoligood.blog

Do you remember that time when we were young, wild, and free to travel around without worry? 🤔

Back during that time, I was in Florida visiting my sister. We were on a walk when I noticed that her previously short eyelashes were now noticeably much longer! It wasn’t a new mascara, it wasn’t an expensive eyelash serum with a questionable ingredient list. She had been using cold pressed organic caster oil! 🙌

Sister Sister | lookingjoligood.blog
My beautiful sister lives in Florida. I love visiting her, we have so much fun when we are together!

Obviously, as soon as I got home I purchased it and started using it immediately!

While I haven’t noticed the drastic results on my lashes that she had, I’ve definitely noticed that my lashes, especially the bottom ones, seem longer and thicker. Let me I tell you though, this oil has made my already thick eyebrows grow like crazy! So crazy that I cannot apply it to my brows every night or they become too thick. When have you ever heard someone complaining about a serum working too well? 😲

In the past I’ve used a lot of eyelash serums with various results. The majority have caused some eye or skin irritation. I have been using Teddie organics caster oil for around 9 months and haven’t had any eye issues.
They even sent along a little bottle with a mascara wand. 10/10 recommend.

First Impressions of the Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara (Waterproof Very Black)

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara | lookingjoligood.blog
Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara

I went through a phase a few years ago where I was trying a new mascara every other week looking for the perfect one. Instead of perfection, I discovered lots of duds and I figured out exactly what I didn’t like about different mascaras.
Mascara is definitely one of those things that is super personal. Some people like dry mascaras, some like wetter formulas.  Some people want volume, others want length.  Some people despise clumps, others want to have a spidery lash look. It’s all personal preference. Mascaras that I hate might be your favorite ride or die product.
Personally, I have long, thin, super straight downward-pointing lashes that have a hard time holding a curl. Personally, I want long, curled, thick, upward-turning lashes… but then again, who doesn’t, right?  I prefer a natural-looking volumizing mascara with zero clumps!
Then one glorious day, I landed on the Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express, in the yellow tube, and I heard angels singing and I haven’t looked back since…
Maybelline VOLUM' EXPRESS® THE COLOSSAL WATERPROOF MASCARA IN GLAM BLACK. | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com
That is until yesterday when I decided to try out the Falsies waterproof mascara in Very Black also by Maybelline…
It’s not a far cry from my holy grail mascara, in that it’s still by Maybelline and still part of the Volume’ Express line.
The difference is in the wand and brush. The Falsies has a curved brush and a flexible neck on the wand. The application was much easier than I expected. The formula is a bit wetter than I like and the end results after two coats are a bit clumpier than I prefer with less overall lengthening than I am used to with the waterproof Colossal Volum’ Express.
Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara | lookingjoligood.blog
As I have worn it throughout the day I haven’t noticed any flaking or smudging. There has been no irritation to my eyes.  My lashes are a little less curled and bit less clumpy as the day has gone on. As with all waterproof mascaras, I used an oil-based cleanser to remove it, it came off without any issues.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara
Luckily for you, you get to see an up-close and personal picture of my eye.

Mascara is one of those things that I refuse to pay a lot of money for.  There are so many great products at the drugstore that a high-end mascara is not necessary.  Costing just around $7 USD, it’s overall not a bad mascara.  I have a feeling that it might be the type of mascara that’s perfect after being used for about two weeks after being opened.
So far not a 10/10, but I’m going to keep using it and see how it goes…
What about you?  What is your personal mascara preference?
Have you ever tried this Maybelline The Falsies mascara? Do you like length, volume, or a natural look? Are you someone that prefers a bit of clumping? Do you have a holy grail mascara that checks all the necessary boxes for you?  If so, I’d love to hear what it is and what you like about it in the comment section below!

No Gym No Problem

It’s Baaaaaack! (And so am I) No Gym? No Problem! Week 6

If you have been around Looking Joli Good for any amount of time, you know that I love to workout! When I hurt myself last year, once I finally admitted to myself that I could no longer work out, I didn’t know what to do with myself.

It’s been a really long year of healing and very slow progress. Since I have finally made some major progress in the healing department, and I have begun to work out.

I’ve been dying to get back into a regular workout routine.  While I am still not healed enough to jump back into my previous level of exercising, I’ve started to do some simple workouts.  I’ve also learned to listen to my body and take it super slowly.  There is no rush and no point in reinjuring myself or undoing any progress.

I have restarted back at square one… although that’s not even true, it is actually more like square -100.  I decided there is no place better to pick up than exactly where I started 11 years ago… working out with Leslie Sansone.

She is so encouraging and always so happy.  She does extremely simple exercises that are easy to follow along with.  Despite her exercises being low impact and easy to follow, I still have to simplify and modify the movements.  It is all part of listening to the cues that my body is giving me.

If you decide to join me on my road to recovering my physique, you can start with this happy one-mile walk. Don’t forget to keep good form, warm-up before, and stretch out after the exercises!  Listen to your body and do what is within your ability.  Work up to a higher level of activity as you feel you can and as you get stronger.

Ready?  No excuses, let’s do it!
