Walmart Beauty Box Spring 2016

Did you know that Walmart has it’s own a subscription beauty box? Yup, they do! It is a quarterly box and only costs $5 a season. Walmart technically calls it a “sample box” and says that the box itself is free and the $5 is a flat rate for shipping and handling. Either way the box costs $5 each season.

Generally the box will have around 5 samples, with 1 or 2 of them being full sized products. Also in your Walmart Beauty Box, they send 2 or 3 smaller sample beauty products and coupons.

How does it work?

Create and account
Add your payment and shipping info
Wait for you confirmation email
Enjoy your beauty box when it arrives

If you are first time subscribers: Your subscription will be processed when you sign up and your credit card will be charged $5 and you will receive the current season’s box. Once you are subscribed, you won’t have to resign up, you will receive a shipping confirmation email and then your box will arrive. You’ll only be charged when your Beauty Box is shipped.

The Walmart beauty box website says “Each seasonal Beauty Box is a “limited edition” and may sell out. Note: Beauty products vary by box. Only one beauty box per email address.”

Here in the picture below is what I got in this seasons box.

Spoiler alert: I had already been working on a post about the Optic White Colgate toothpaste. I’m not going to tell you what I think, you’ll just have to wait and see.

This Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick is quite nice! The color is great, the consistency is great. It has a bit of a sweet scent to it, but overall it doesn’t bother me and I am very sensitive to scents. I have been enjoying using the Curel Rough Skin Rescue lotion. It is thick but not too greasy. I don’t really like the scent of the Dove body wash, which is too bad because I really like Dove body wash. I may have to pass this one along to someone else. I also love the concept of the Jergens wet skin moisturizer, but the floral scent is just too strong for me. I think that I am going to pass it along as well.

Over all I think that this was a great box! For $5 I find that this Walmart beauty box is generally a great deal! How about you, do you get the Walmart Beauty box? Did you get the same samples in you box? What do you think?

Have you seen that Biore recently release a Baking Soda Pore Cleanser? You don’t need to pay $7 for the benefits* that you can receive from a $0.52 box of baking soda.

Make your own baking soda pore cleanser by mixing plain old baking soda and water until it forms a paste.

Wet your face with warm water. Dip your fingers into the baking soda paste. Apply the paste to your wet face using a gentle circular motion. Cover your entire face with the paste. Avoiding the eye area. Rinse your face thoroughly with warm water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. It is as simple as that.

You can also spruce it up by mixing it with organic coconut, olive, or grapeseed oil or with Witch Hazel.

**Be sure to avoid eye contact!**

Target has just posted the items for their upcoming April 2016 Beauty Box!

The new boxes are NOT on sale yet, so this page currently says “Sold Out.” Don’t worry, you haven’t missed it yet!

The launch date of this beauty box hasn’t been announced yet, but I have a feeling that it will probably be on Monday, since that seems to be when they usually go live.

What do you think of the products in this months box? Will you be trying to get this moths box? I haven’t gotten the last few Target Boxes, but I think that this one looks pretty good! I love Pantene and CeraVe and Laneige. Surprisingly, I don’t own any CoverGirl lipsticks, so hopefully it is a good color.

I have been using this Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB CREAM for about 4 years now. It is hands down my go to every day base. It is very easy to blend and gives light to medium coverage. One of my favorite things about it is that as it brightens and evens out the skin it still has a very lightweight feel on the skin.

During the winter months I am super pale, so the fair/light Skin Renew shade is a great color for me right now. During the summer I use the light/medium, and even some times by the end of the summer I am even in the medium/dark shade. I also really like that the skin renew has a 15 spf in it. The light medium has more of a brown under tone, while the fair/light is more of a peach undertone.

The Miracle Skin Perfector BB CREAM light/medium is much lighter than the Skin Renew light/medium shade. It is so much lighter that I can wear it during the winter months even when my skin is at its palest. I prefer the finish of this one over the Miracle Skin Perfector BB CREAM. It seems to last longer throughout the day and gives better coverage overall.

Does muscle weigh more than fat?

We’ve all probably heard someone say that muscle weighs more than fat. But does muscle really weight more than fat? The quick answer is NO…A pound is still a pound no matter what it is made up of. That being said the difference between muscle and fat is not the weight, but the amount of space that it takes up.

Muscle is denser and compact so it takes up less space. Fat is more spread out and takes up more space. This is why a lean body builder can weigh the same as a chubby couch potato.

Instead of focusing on just the number on the scale, focus on how you feel and how your clothes are fitting. While it is nice to see the numbers on the scale go down, it is a better idea to focus on fat loss and how you feel, not just the number on the scale.

Keep in mind that no matter what the number is on the scale, when you feel good you can’t help but look good too!

Drugstore Dupes for Highend Products!

What is better than finding an awesome makeup product? A great product for a great deal! I love finding drugstore dupes for highend products! I think that these products are a great list of dupes. I’ll list them in the order that I would apply…

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation $39 and
L’Oreal True Match Foundation $9
When it comes to high end foundation, it is usually the long lasting stayability where the drugstore is lacking. I feel like the True Match Foundation is very comparable when it comes to wear time. True Match is not as immediately full coverage as the Born This Way, but it can easily be built up. With 21 shades in cool, warm, and neutral, to choose from, the True Match Foundation makes it easier to find a true match to your skin’s shade. (see what I did there ;-))

tarte HD Setting Powder $33 and
NYX HD Setting Powder $10
While the tarte powder is slightly more finely milled, they both provide the same finish and lasting power. The biggest difference is the $23 you’ll be saving!

UD Naked Palette $54 and
Wet n’ Wild Comfort Zone Palette $6
You have heard me sing the praises of both Urban Decay and Wet N’ Wild eyeshadows. Now this is not an exact dupe since the UD has 12 shades and the WnW only has 8, but for the almost $50 savings you can definitely make an exception. I love both the Naked Palette and the Comfort Zone Palette, but sometimes I find myself reaching for my WnW shadows over the UD ones.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara $4
While my favorite of all mascaras is still the Maybelline Collosal Volum Express, this Jordana mascara is great as well. I don’t ever see the point in paying a lot for any mascara because it expires and dries up so quickly. These two have a very similar fomula and very similar brushes. I actually find that the Jordana mascara is a bit liter so it doesn’t weigh down my already super straight sad lashes.

tarte Lip Surgence Lip Creme $24 and
NYX Simply Nude Lip Cream Sticks $6.50
I feel like this is one of those products that the drugstore version is actually better than the higher priced one. The tarte Lip Surgence tends to be a bit dryer and I find that the NYX Lip Cream has better pigmentation.

UD 24/7 Lip Liners $20 and
NYX Retractable Lip Liners $4.50
I am going to be honest, I don’t often line my lips, so I cannot justify spending $20 on a lipliner! But $4.50, that is totally doable! The NYX Retractable Lip Liners have a wonderful color selection, 19 shades, as well as all day wearability and staying power.

UD Revolution Glosses $22 and
NYX Intense Butter Glosses $6
Don’t get me wrong, the UD Revolution Glosses are awesome! I love the high pigmentation with the shine and glossiness (available in 14 shades). That being said, I almost feel like the NYX Intense Butter Glosses are just as pigmented and just as glossy all for a third of the price.

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesdays…

On quick “5 Minute Makeup” or “No Makeup Makeup” days all you need is blush, mascara, lipgloss, and bronzer!

When I want to look natural or get ready quickly, I love to sweep a bit of bronzer into my crease. It adds some nice depth without taking a lot of time or having to use eyeshadow.

I love to workout with weights! One thing I have learned from all my working out with Jillian (remember we are best friends, she just doesn’t know it) is that compound movements are much more effective than just isolating one muscle group. This series of dumbbell exercises will give you several effective compound movements. I like to use 8lb weights, but 3lbs or 5 lbs is great as well! You can always push the up button by increasing the weight.

Start with one set of each move. As you get stronger,try to do the a circuit three or four times. After six weeks you can expect to see improvements in strength, muscle tone, and endurance. You will be shocked at just how strong you are! As always…No excuses! Just do it!

Remember to keep good proper form and warm up and stretch before and after your workout!

Cadbury Mini Eggs candies Cheesecake Dip

If you know me in person, you know that I am in LOVE with Cadbury Mini Eggs. They are my all time favorite candy in the history of forever! I cannot resist their sweet perfect yummy goodness! Easter is my favorite season for candy! One of my friends recently shared this delicious looking recipe with me, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup Cadbury Mini Eggs candies, crushed

Instructions

In a stand mixer or medium bowl beat cream cheese and butter together.
Add brown sugar, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
Stir in Cadbury Mini Eggs candies with a spatula.
Serve with graham crackers or cookies of your choice.

If you aren’t a fan of Cabdury Mini Eggs (maybe you should go get checked out by your doctor because there may be something wrong with you!) you can substitute any of your favorite Easter candy for the mini eggs. I bet Reese’s pieces eggs or Reese’s peanut butter cup eggs would be wonderful as well, or even M&M’s! The candy combinations are pretty much endless!
