Here is another tip for Tip Tuesdays…

Has your mascara ever dried out before it has run out or expired?  These are two ways that you can you can easily revive it!

First add 2-3 drops of saline solution eye drops into the tube, recover, and roll it between your hands.  Magically your mascara will be usable again.

Tip Tuesday Make up tips and tricks every Tuesday | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Don’t have any saline solution eye drops?  Put your tightly closed dried up mascara tube into a mug of hot water for 3-5 minutes.  Check your mascara, most likely it will be nice and smooth again, if not reheat your water and let it sit another 3-5 minutes!

No Gym No Problem

No Gym? No Problem! #11

Do you remember Jessica Smith (and Peanut) from a few weeks ago?  This is one of my all time absolute favorite exercises routines from her.  If you want a great ab workout without having to do a million crunches, this is just the workout for you!  It takes less than 30 minutes!  No excuses, just do it!

How does the Jessica Smith TV website describe this workout routine?

“What It Is: This cardio kickboxing abs routine is the best way to mix up your abs routine and give unwanted belly fat a one-two punch (don’t forget to pair it with a healthy diet for best results)!

Why You Need It: Let’s face it, crunches aren’t the most effective  and those plank challenges are super boring (and they can really cause poor form). This multi-tasking routine saves you time and maximizes your calorie burn by combining your cardio and core work into a single workout (plus, it’s kind of fun too!).”

Don’t forget to keep good form and warm up and stretch before and after your workout!

Love and Life

My Greatest Contribution to the Universe

The other day I was driving home after picking my kids up from school.  Out of no where my son asked, “Mom, how do you like being a parent?”  I told him “I absolutely love it, it is the BEST and hardest thing I have ever done.”  Ever since that conversation I have been thinking about it a lot.

Every day my first and most important responsibility is being a wife and mother.  Sometimes in the rush of daily life I forget that my children are not a distraction from my daily work, but that they are the most important work that I will ever do.

I have learned more from having kids than any other thing I have ever done in my life. While being a parent is the absolute best, yet hardest, thing I have ever done, it is also the most important.  I have learned that there are more important things in life than getting my own way.  I have learned that doing something for someone else makes you feel so much better about yourself.  I have learned that time flies by, and that they will only need me to do everything for them and be little for such a short amount of time.

Sometimes they are CrAzY!  Sometimes they wake up way waaaaaay too early.  Sometimes when I just want to get things done they get super silly and laugh really loud at every thing!  (Wow, isn’t it crazy how their laughing and being silly and happy can be an issue for me?!  What is my problem?!) Sometimes they say “Mommy?! Mommy?! Mommy?! Mommy?!” over and over again even when I am standing right next to them asking “What?”  Despite all that, they are a gift, a gift that I could never live without!

When I get upset or stressed out, I can always find peace in the fact that I have my family. They love me even at my worst, and they think that I am awesome, even when I am a hot mess.  So, on those days when things are not going as planned, and my house is a crazy mess, and I don’t have anything planned for dinner, and feel like I am failing as a mother; I need to stop and remind myself that I have a wonderful husband, and that no one can be the mother my kids need like I can.

My greatest contribution to the universe is my children. | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com
I am so thankful to God everyday for the children He has blessed me with!

Au Naturel 754A Nude Awakening Palette | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

I don’t go to Walmart very often, but I made an exception to get this Wet N Wild Au Naturel 754A Nude Awakening Palette. It is absolutely gorgeous! I am completely in love! Trust me, you need this in your life!  One thing that I love about Wet N Wild is that they are a Cruelty Free brand!  I really appreciate that they do not test on animals!

Wet N Wild Au Naturel 754A Nude Awakening Palette | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com
There are 5 shades there, I am just so pale that two of them don’t show up that well, haha!

The shadows are beautiful shades, they are buttery and smooth and have a great pigment. As far as I know this is exclusively sold at Walmart and Walmart.com. I paid less than $6 for this palette at the Walmart near me.

This swatch doesn’t do justice to the small sparkles in the two darkest shadows.

Here is what the Walmart.com site has to say about this product…

Bronzer 101

Let’s face it, about this time of year, if you live in the North East like I do you are probably a bit Vitamin D deficient!  While I can’t help you with that, I can give you a few tips on how to look like you have just returned from a stay at the beach.

Adding life to your face can be as simple as using bronzer!

While using bronzer to add color is a simple step, proper application isn’t always as simple.  Keep in mind that the goal is to add color, but not to give the appearance of an all over tan. Bronzer should be applied where the sun would naturally hit the face, the forehead, the cheeks, and the nose.

Bronzer is applied after your foundation and concealer have been put on. Choose a bronzer that works with you skin tone.  To apply find the apple of the cheek by smiling and lightly dust your cheeks with the bronzer. Then using a wide brush blend up and blend down.  You can put blush on top of it and even a little bit of shimmer and highlight on top as well.

Bronzing vs Contour | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com
Don’t confuse bronzing your face with contouring.  These are two different techniques.

While bronzer is probably the quickest way to add some color and life to your face, a little bronzer can go a long way, remember that you can always add more, so start off lightly and build it up as needed.

Hello Bronzer! | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com
This is not the effect you are wanting to achieve with bronzer! (This is not my photo, I just googled bronzer overload and this was one of the first pictures that came up. )

Tip Tuesday #4

Tip Tuesday: Make up tips and tricks every Tuesday | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesdays…

Lining the inner rim of the eye is beautiful but it is a bit high maintenance.  Unfortunately, you will always have to touch it up as needed throughout the day, but there are a few ways to extend the wear time of the eye liner when lining the water line or tight lining. First of all, always use a waterproof liner in the waterline. (My all time favorite is Scandaleyes waterproof kohl liner by Rimmel.)  Secondly, before applying the liner, use a q-tip cotton swab to dry off the area you are about to line. Q-tips are perfect for using throughout the day as well to clean up the buildup that often collects in the tear ducts. (I hate when that happens!)  Thirdly, if you tend to have very watery eyes, you may want skip lining the waterline all together, but if not, apply the liner to your waterline with your head tilted back with your mouth closed while breathing deeply through your nose.  This helps those tears to go into the sinuses and not out onto the eyes and down the cheeks.

Let me know if you try out this tip and if it works for you!
