~Weekly Product Highlight~Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows~

I absolutely LOVE this product it is by far one of the best eyeshadows I have ever had.  It never creases, fades, or flakes, and a little bit goes a long way and lasts all day.   These shadows are packed with pigment and shimmer. They are available in 24 beautiful shades and generally cost around $7 USD. Some of my favorites shades are Always Pearly Pink, Amber Rush, and Liquid Diamond.

As you can tell from the above picture, these shadows swatch amazingly beautifully.  They go onto the eyes just as beautifully.  They have a velvety super smooth texture that has a cream to powder finish.  The color payoff is amazingly rich without any creasing or fallout.

Amber rush is seriously gorgeous.  It reminds me a lot of Chopper from Urban Decay minus the fall out.  The color payoff from just a single swipe with the finger is amazing!  The below swatch is one swipe of Amber Rush and Chopper is applied wet.

I have so many other high end eye shadows from MAC, Urban Decay, Lorac, and the Balm, the pigmentation of these Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows is so concentrated that I might almost say that it is better than all those other more expensive shadows.

To be honest it is not all perfection…I am going to warn you, if you don’t close the cover completely it will dry out. On the top of the little plastic protector that comes with the shadow it says Do Not Discard, it means it, don’t throw it out or the shadow will be all dried out and unusable.  Also  don’t press the gray insert down onto the shadow too tightly.  I learned the hard way that it will squeeze out all the liquid and also cause the shadow to dry out quickly. Since they have that kind of a powder/cream consistency you cannot use a brush to apply them. (It is similar to Color Pop shadows.) They are best when applied with the fingers.  If you always prefer to use a brush to apply your shadows these are not the shadows for you.

What does the Loreal Website have to say about it?

Laura Joli | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

  • I have a green thumb.  I can bring almost any practically dead plant back to life.
  • Even though I am an IV nurse I am completely afraid of needles!  I get super sweaty and almost pass out every time I have to get a shot or blood drawn.
  •  I have taught myself how to tilt my head in pictures to hide the fact that my nose is super crooked!
  • I am really good at catching and killing flies in my house.
  • I had a crush on my husband since the first day I met him in eighth grade, but we didn’t start dating until years later when we were both in college.
  • I am slightly dyslexic.  I have a hard time reading out loud and I write b and d backwards.  It also makes is so that I cannot look into a rearview mirror and back up my car.
  • I alway try to park in a parking spot that I can pull through.  (see above for the reason why. haha.)
  • I am a terrible speller!  Terrible!  If I can’t figure out how to spell a word I will change the sentence around to be able to use a similar word that I can spell.  (I think it also has something to do with the dyslexia.) Spell check is my best friend, but there are some words that not even spell check can help with my spelling, trust me!
  • I love to go to the beach!  If I could spend the day anywhere it would be in the sand by the ocean.

Flab to FAB · Health/ Fitness

Hi, My Name is Laura and I Am A Food Addict…

Some posts are easier to share than others…

Journey with me From Flab to FAB!

So, from the title you can already tell what this post is going to be about…  While I am not completely serious when I say that I am a food addict, I definitely have a love/hate relationship Eat to Live or Live to Eat |lookingjoligood.wordpress.comwith food.  I  love to eat, yet I hate the guilt that comes along with it.  It is a crazy cycle!

Some people are just naturally fit and thin, while others have to work really hard at it.  Some people are naturally built thicker and curvier.  Some people just naturally don’t like to eat a lot (what is their problem?! :-))  Other people love to eat!  Some people can eat whatever they want while others look at food and gain weight.

Growing up, I was always able to eat whatever I wanted and never gain weight.  Then I got married, and pregnant and then I hit my thirties.  While I am by no means unhealthy or overweight, I definitely have those few pesky pounds that I want to lose.

Just as much as I love to eat, I have always loved to exercise, but… unfortunately abs are made in the kitchen just as much as they are in the gym

healthy-food flab to FAB journey | lookingjoligood.wordpress.comI have tried to “diet” in the past and what ends up happening is that I get stressed out about everything that I eat and obsessed with all the things that I can’t eat.  Usually I end up super cranky and quit without seeing any results.

So, all this being said, I have recently started a healthy eating journey.  It is not always fun, and it doesn’t usually taste as good as ice cream, but it hasn’t been as hard as I thought.  I have been retraining my brain to think about food differently.  It is an everyday decision and it takes a lot of planning.  It doesn’t mean that I don’t still plan on posting awesome dessert recipes (or even eating awesome desserts), it just means that I have changed my way of thinking about dessert.

I plan to share some of my journey with all of you, and if you are interested, you can even join in and take the journey along with me!  Let me know what you think and if you have ever had similar struggles with food.
