Milani Shadow Eyez 12Hr Wear Eyeshadow Pencil

~Weekly Product Highlight~ Milani Shadow Eyez 12Hr Wear Eyeshadow Pencil~

Milani Shadow Eyez 12Hr Wear Eyeshadow Pencil | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

In my effort to not buy new makeup items, I have been “shopping” from my own collection of makeup.  I have rediscovered so many great products that I had completely forgotten that I love.  One of the rediscovered items is the Milani Shadow Eyez 12Hr Wear Eyeshadow Pencil in 11 SAND DUNES Shimmering TaupeI forgot how much I love this product!

The pigmentation is amazing, it dries quickly and does not wear off at all during the day.  I have a heavy fold to my lids, so sometimes my lid shade ends up in my crease, so annoying! (all you heavy fold and hooded eye girls, you know what I mean right?!) This shimmer doesn’t transfer off my lid at all.

Milani Shadow Eyez 12Hr Wear Eyeshadow Pencil in 11 SAND DUNES Shimmering Taupe

After I applied the swatch for the above picture, I completely forgot about it and didn’t try to remove it.  When I woke up the next morning I saw it on my arm and couldn’t believe that it had lasted so long.  It was definitely on my arm for about 18 hours and hadn’t smudged or worn off at all.

It comes in 10 different shades ranging from neutral tan/beige to bright teals and greens.  I also had the  colors 08 ESPRESSO LINE Matte Espresso Brown and 06 ROYAL PURPLE Blue-Purple Sheen.  While they were both super pigmented and lasted all day, I found them hard to blend and couldn’t get either color to work well for me.

What does the Milani Website have to say about it…

“DESCRIPTION

This water-resistant and crease-proof eyeshadow pencil can be worn multiple ways—as a shadow, liner and highlighter. Sharpened to a fine point, it defines. Softly smudged, it adds color. Swept under the brow bone in one of the paler hues, it catches the light. It’s perfect for creating any eye-catching look on the go.

APPLICATION

Apply the pencil directly to the lid, then blend. After use, always replace the cap so the tip does not dry out. Sharpen with Duo Sharpener.”

What about you? Have you tried any of the Milani Shadow Eyez 12Hr Wear Eyeshadow Pencil?  What do you think?  Have you used other chubby pencil long wearing eye makeups? I would love to hear your opinion!

How ’bout Them Samples?! #2

I have been doing really well with not making any unnecessary beauty purchases!  I don’t think that I have ever gone this long before.  So far, so good.  I have walked down the beauty rows several times just to see what is new, and I have successfully left without buying anything!

As part of my self imposed “strict no buy”, I decided to use samples that I have already received but have been neglecting.  Here is the second group of what I have decided to try out…

Acure Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner
Aquaphore
Clairol Hairfood dry shampoo
Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Cream
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Booster Face Wash
Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara
Olay Ultra Moisturizing Body Wash
Tarte  Lipsurgence in Wonder

How ’bout Them Samples 2 | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

I have so many samples that I don’t even remember where I got all of them from originally.  I know some are from ipsy bags, or Target boxes and others from Walmart beauty boxes.  I will let you know in a few weeks what I think of each thing and if I would purchase these items based on my thoughts from these samples.

If you would like to see which samples I have already tried out and what I think about them you can read more by clicking HERE.

Tips and Tricks

Tip Tuesday #22

Here is another tip for Tip Tuesdays…

Tip Tuesday Make up tips and tricks every Tuesday | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Mascara is one of my favorite makeup items.  Finding the perfect mascara is not always easy.  Sometimes the formula is great but the brush is terrible.  It may be that the brush is awesome, but the mascara smudges and flakes.

My tip for this week…

If you find a mascara wand that you love, keep using it.  If I buy a new mascara and discover that I hate the brush, before I write it off completely, I will take a wand/brush that I like from a mascara,  ( after cleaning it off really well with rubbing alcohol between mascara bottles), and use it in the new mascara.  Sometimes that is all that it takes. It might not be that the mascara formula is one that I don’t like, it might just be the brush.

Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016

Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016 | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Another month has flown by!!! I can’t believe that it is already time to post what I got in my ipsy glam bag!   I don’t know about you, but I always loving seeing what everyone else received in their bags.

This month’s ipsy theme is “Hot Summer Nights”  The card basically tells about the new changes to the ipsy.com website.  They have added a new tips and tricks section as well as a look book inspo section.

(If you don’t know what ipsy is you can check out my previous post all about it by clicking HERE)

Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016 | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

This month’s glam bag is super cute!  Silver gray background with an iridescent sheen background with small pink and white beach umbrella pattern.  I love the iridescent colors of this bag’s print, it is one of my favorites so far!  The zipper is across the top, a feature that I prefer best.

If you don’t already subscribe to ipsy but you’re thinking about trying it out, I’d love for you to use my referral link https://www.ipsy.com/new?refer=uqdkx

Here’s what I got in my glam bag this month…

theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz
Triple milled just sounds attractive, doesn’t it? It means this shadow is super fine, making it smooth and easy to blend.

  • theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz | lookingjoligood.wordpress.comUltra-matte color
  • Perfect on your lids, in the crease or as a transition shade
  • Velvety texture that’s as soft as it is stunning

ipsters received this eyeshadow in either Matt Kumar orMatt Moskowitz.  I got it in Matt Moskowitz, which is a deep purple plum shade.

Although in the pan the shadow feels soft and smooth, it didn’t swatch well at all. Look at that swatch!  It completely looks like a bruise! It was patchy and not very pigmented.  It took 3 passes to get the swatch to show up like this. I am hoping that when I use a brush and put it onto my eyelids I have better results.

OFRA Cosmetics Lip Liner in Silk

  • Made with synthetic beeswax for smooth application
  • Long-lasting (aka made to stay the course of the day)
  • Waterproof and drink-proof

ipsters will receive this lip liner in the shade Maya or Silk.  I got the shade silk which is described as “a ballet slipper shade that draws a soft line for perfectly pink lips.”

OFRA Cosmetics Lip Liner in Silk | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

It feels smooth and creamy when swatched.  I don’t love liners that need to be sharpened and I’m not sure how I feel about the color I received.  I don’t usually wear such a light pink/nude shade on my lips.   Naturally I have very pigmented lips, so nudes and light pinks don’t always work out for me. We’ll see if I end up using this or passing it along to someone else.

OFRA Cosmetics Lip Liner in Silk | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com
It swatches beautifully, and is a beautiful shade. I just don’t know if it is a shade that will look good on my lip color and skin tone.

EmbryolisseLait-Crème Concentré | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

Everything on the bottle is written in French, so I had to look up what it was and how to use it.  Hopefully it is as awesome as it is described to be.

“Tips & Tricks: ipsy’s Awesome Spin Have it three-ways.

Way 1: As a moisturizer: Apply to clean skin and leave on for 5-10 minutes.

Way 2: As a primer: Massage on for an extra glow before applying liquid, mineral or pressed powder foundation.

Way 3: As a makeup remover: Dab on a cotton pad and smooth across the eyelid.”

“Making pharmaceutical-grade skincare a thing since 1950. With over half a century of experience in dermatology and cosmetics, this Parisian brand started by a doctor specializing in skin diseases has been a cult favorite for decades. Their first superstar product, the legendary Milk-Cream Concentrate, has sold millions worldwide and continues to gain fans like us every day.”

  • Shea butter and sodium hyaluronate in the formula make it glide on easily
  • Ceramides condition your lashes
  • Vegan and free of all the bad stuff (parabens, sulfates and latex)

It swatches great and is a very black black. I love that it is a twist up style of liner and think that the smudger is a great addition.

Even more so I like that fact that founder Karissa Bodar is doing such awesome things for women with and surviving cancer.

Luxie 215 small angle brush

Luxie Beauty Luxie Rose Gold Small Angle Eye Brush 215

I have a love hate relationship with getting brushes in my ipsy bag.  I somewhat hate that have been getting one almost every month recently, but I have actually been loving the bushes that I have been getting recently.  (I would much rather get a brush every month instead of nail polish!) Since I just recently started wearing gel liner, I think that this brush might come in handy for that.

“When it comes to makeup, we’re all about the details. And this brush makes it simple to apply with precision.

  • Dense and compact bristles
  • Hello, versatility! Line, smudge or fill in brows.
  • Built to last”

How about you?   Did you get an ipsy’s glam bag?  What did you get in yours?  Were you happy with your samples?  Do you get any other monthly subscription bags/boxes that are worth trying out?  Let me know in the comments below.

Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

~Weekly Product Highlight~ Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream~

So in an effort to not buy new items, I have been “shopping” from my own stash of makeup.  I have rediscovered so many great products that I had completely forgotten that I love.  One of the rediscovered items is the  Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. I forgot how much I love this product!

L'Oreal MagicSkinBeautifier | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

I am a big fan of BB/CC creams!  This Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream was the first BB cream that I ever used and it has been a favorite ever since!  I like the design of the packaging, it is in a small squeeze bottle that makes it perfect for throwing into my makeup bag for travel.  We recently went away for July 4th and this is what I brought along with me.

If you want something lightweight to wear during the summer when it’s hot and humid this BB cream is perfect. It gives the right amount of coverage without feeling heavy.  It leaves a flawless looking, smooth base for makeup. Like most BB/CC creams it provides sheer/light cover that can be built up to slight medium coverage.

Battle of the BB creams | Lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

As you can tell from the above photo, it comes out of the tube white and as it is rubbed in it transforms into your skin’s color for a perfect match.  I don’t know how they do it, but it seems like magic! I am guessing that is why they named it Magic Skin Beautifier.

It comes in four shades: fair, light, medium, and deep, as well as two other formulas one for anti-aging and one for anti-redness.    Prices range from $7.99 at Target to $10.99 at Ulta.

Loreal Magic BB | lookingjoligood.wordpress.com

What does the Loreal Website have to say about it…

“4 Beautifying Actions in 1.
Hydrates, Primes, Perfects, Corrects.
Flawless bare skin finish.

Meet the Magic all-in-one skin BB cream, with Beautifying Beads; encapsulated pigments infused in an ultra-light lotion with antioxidants Vitamins C&E. This mullti-tasking skin beautifier delivers 4 beautifying actions in 1: hydrates, corrects, evens and perfects. Instantly transforms to your perfect shade for a flawless, bare skin finish. Over time, more beautiful skin.”

What about you? Have you tried any of the Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Creams?  What do you think?  Have you used other smart shade makeups? I would love to hear your opinion!
